Pros: Good FPS everything, vehicles, good multiplayer mode ;-) Cons: Lots of "been there done that", system requirements, progress saves only last checkpoint, AI
If media hype is right, then Halo: Combat Evolved is one of the most anticipated games for 2003. After all the success that made the XBox what it is, Halo comes to 'save' the PC. (Nevermind that this category should be actually under Computergames ...
Pros: New maps, weapons, vehicles and of course, the online play Cons: Um...kinda hi specs, 56kers
Halo…you could call it the game that made the Xbox what it is today. It remained exclusive to Xbox due to a deal Bungie had with Microsoft. With all the money made from Halo, naturally Microsoft would want it on windows and mac to bring the Halo ...
Pros: under $20, interesting game universe Cons: outdated in every sense of the word and in every technical aspect
HALO - Combat Evolved (or just HALO for short), one of the industries most successful game franchises and one of the games with the most turbulent history is about to go into it's next stage of existence. While HALO 3 is about to debut on the XBOX 360, ...
Pros: So much to do and great graphics. So much fun! Cons: Needs high-speed internet to play online without lagging.
My Experience Since I bought this game, it has been one of my favorites ever! My favorite part of this game is that you can play online with hundreds of people in hundreds of games and it's absolutely free. I've spent whole days ...
Pros: MULTIPLAYER, some good shooting action, decent combat models some enemies are cool. Cons: Story sucks, weapons are very outdated and limited, some enemies too childish.
I am rating the PC game, and this is the only one I have played. We begin as I open the box, and start reading the manual....hmmm. Fairly interesting story, it's the year 2552 (Pretty far in the future by most peoples standards). First alien ...
The game costs $20, it is known throughout the world, they are thinking of coming out with a movie for it. You can get a free trial and try it out from microsoft.com. Need any more convincing?? Oh, ok Action There is alot of action in the game, there ...
Pros: Incredible Immersive Action, Awesome AI, Great Graphics and Soundtrack Cons: Indoor LEVELS Get a bit Repetitive at times
After Finishing the Game , I quickly realized that this is not only the best First Person Shooter I ever Played, But one with the Best AI Ever. Add to that incredible Graphics , with a soundtrack that makes the Game that much more Intense. The Story ...
Pros: really fun game. can run on mid end graphics cards. Beautiful graphics Cons: will not run properly on nvidia cards below the fx 5900xt.
I do not have an xbox but I really wanted to play Halo. It finally came out for the pc. It plays really well and the graphics are amazing. The animations are really well done(even at 30 fps). Anyway in the game you play as master chief a super soldier ...
Pros: good story line and great multiplayer Cons: Auckward controls
Most People dont realize this but there is NO END to halo Pc. Multiplayer offers more game types, maps and mods. Such as flying an f-16 or cruising in a scarab. Single player is identical to Xbox. the controls are a lil weird but you get used to them. Great game.
Pros: Well if you have tons of money its a way to waste money Cons: graphics, player figures, realism, buying the game itself
Well i have to say for all of you people like me that like the game that has a bullet do a realistic effect in a game, dont buy this. I hate this game because of its un-realistic deaths. Like i have to shoot someone 50 times before he even becomes injured. But i bought this mainly because i thought why not try this halo and see if its any different than the one for x-box with x-box live. Well i found out its no better or different. I feel as if i really wasted my money on it. I would hope not to many people buy this because of its bad realism. I really dislike all Halo games because the graphics are nothing great and i hate un-realistic games. Overall i just dont understand why people rave about halo. And to tell all the people looking at this the truth i hated most of the things this game had to offer. I hated the graphics, the realism, and the player figures. God could someone please kill me!!!
I have this game, it is the best shooting game i have ever played, the graphics, story, ai's and vehicles are well created, i am running it on a pentium 3 733, 256 ram, and a gigabyte geforce 2560 32 meg graphics card. This ran the game decently, although the graphics weren't as good as on a better machine, such as the visor is black, i played it on a better machine and the weapons were shiny and the visor was like a mirror.
Halo: Awesome in Every Way by bubbasmythe ,May 22 '04
Pros: Incredible Graphics
Great Story
Great Enemy AI
Cons: None (My PC handles it excellently).
Halo: Combat Evolved is an incredible game for the PC. The graphics are beautiful; the story is unbelievably in depth for a first person shooter, the enemy AI is horribly frustrating in a wonderful way.
I love this game. I've played through it on every difficulty setting and enjoyed it every time.
The story in Halo is engrossing, and the play simple enough to keep me coming back for more.
A game that had potential. by snow_rider_11 ,Mar 23 '04
Pros: A fantastic game, with fairly good graphics. Cons: Very outdated, needs a top-of-the-line computer.
Halo is a game that was originally planned to be released on PC first. Microsoft decided to release it on X-box first, though, and the game hasn't been touched since that release. This game had great potential, but now, the graphics are outdated, the gameplay itself is just not as fun as other games are. One of the other real kickers in this game, is that the processing power needed to run it is apalling! If you are not the owner of a brand new PC, with at least 3.0 ghz of processing power and a top-of-the-line graphics card, stay away from this game. When I first bought this, I figured this was going to be a fantastic game, and the fact that it actually made it to the PC was what really convinced me to buy it. There are a few new multiplayer maps as well as a couple new weapons, but the choppy graphics, the slow framerate, and the horrible AI should be enough to make anybody stay away from this game. But, if you want a mind-numbing First-Person Shooter, and you have an amazing PC, then this might be right up your alley.
Pros: Incredibly graphics Cons: Some levels are confusing
Halo: Combat Evolved is by far my favorite game. It has an intense plot and 10 easy or difficult levels (this depends on the mode of difficulty you put it on). In this game you are the last Spartan II warior left untoucthed by the Covonant. Because of this the Covonant attacks the ship you are on to kill you but you get away. You then land on a planet called Halo, because of the ring that goes around it, and you travel around.
My favorite levels are:
The Pillar Of Autum: The First level sets up the whole game. You are the last of your kind (Spartan II) and the Covonant has come to kill you. You must fight your way to an escape pod.
The Library: You must follow around a machine through a huge library until you get to the core. This level is incredibly hard yet incredibly fun.
The Maw: This is the last level. You now have to fight all three types of enemies. Machines, The Flood, and the Covonant. It is so hard (even on easy).
Pros: you dont have to buy a xbox to play halo now Cons: You need an excellent computer
I wouldnt call it that for the PC, i would call it that halo combat devolved. Pretty much you have go to have top of the line everything in your PC. You need fast ghz, you need a top of the line video card. I bought thinking i would have fun. I was like, ok this is cool, i dont have to go out and buy an X-box just to play halo. But i was wrong. This game is totally outdated now. Yea there are some new features in the PC version from the xBox's version like new weapons and new multiplier maps. Overall this game has poor quality in it and they should have re-thought the release of this game. To me it was a waste of 50 dollars. Dont buy it. if you do the frame rates will leave you in the dust.
