Pros: Fairly easy to use and clean. Inexpensive. Powerful. Cons: Made with lightweight plastic. Shredding/slicing disc is potentially dangerous.
This fall, I noticed that my trusty two cup Black & Decker food chopper was starting to show signs of wear and tear. I had primarily used the chopper to make hommos or black bean soup, and although I didn't use it often, the little machine was starting ...

Pros: The processor is very powerful. It will process about anything you put in it! Cons: Turn the processor off before adding food, or it will come up the feed tube.
The Hamilton Beach Prepstar 70550 8 Cups Food Processor is a great machine! I bought this food processor about 4 months ago for my family *but mostly for myself*. I recently went through with a gastric bypass surgery to lose some weight. So I had to ...

Not happy with this product

Pros: chops and shreds okay. parts are dishwasher safe if you are able to disassemble as intended. Cons: parts do not disassemble easily difficult to lock bowl into place for operation
I was given this processor as a gift a year and a half ago. I have used it only 10 or 15 times because it is not easy and convenient to use. From the beginning, the lid has been very difficult to remove and replace, and once you get the lid locked into place, it is yet another difficult task to lock the bowl into place so the unit will operate.
Currently, the appliance is unusable as the lid is stuck on and we cannot get it apart for anything.
I would say the performance was only average anyway, so it was not worth the hassle of dealing with the difficult lid and locking to use very frequently. Whenever chopping or shredding items, there were always chunks of unprocessed food remaining, so it was not thorough
If this item had not been a gift, I would have returned it long ago (unfortunately this is not an option now). I kept it, hoping maybe I just needed to break it in so it would become more smooth to use, but this was not the case, it actually became more difficult with time.
