I've had my two Hampton Bay fans for three years. So far, I've blown the switch once (literally fell apart and NOT covered by warranty) and the starting capacitor twice (1 in each fan). Those capacitors are hard to find and the only online source I've found has a $25 minimum and $7.20 S&H, so if you can't find one locally and end up buying for where I did, you'll end up paying $32.20 to replace the starting cap yourself. I'll never buy another Hampton Bay again. When the motor goes, or the next switch or starting cap goes, I'll use another brand.
