Good Portability, Very Comfortable, But Sound Fair
by audio-freak ,Feb 23 '07
Pros: Comfortable, Folding Action Cons: Sound Quality Is Not Good, Expensive/Poor Value, Not Durable
These PX100s are designed for those who want a portable headphone that is comfortable, comes with a folding action and does not care to play music loudly. If you want more you may want to look elsewhere. The sound quality is poor for the asking price. These have solid bass, but there is no clarity in these headphones, and drop out at around 17,000KHz, which is where most $10-20 headphones are placed. Also, the mid-range seems very "airy" and unnatural, which gives off a bad sound when listening to rap. Also the right speaker blew easily when only listening to these at 70% volume. Most speakers can handle just the 100%. The PX100s are massively overrated in my opinion and you can easily find something of better quality without having to spend much more or anymore at all.

Good sound from compact headphones
by darrenyeats ,Aug 12 '04
Pros: Decent sound.
Compact. Cons: For the price, none.
The first time I saw or heard of these was in a hi-fi store in London, I gave them a quick audition: five minutes later I was the proud owner of a pair of PX-100s.
By any standards the sound quality is decent. I would rate their sound quality as 4 out of 5 in absolute terms. And given their size and price, that is very impressive.
Their sound quality is decent in all departments: bass extension and control, midrange and treble sweetness, detail and transparency, imaging. This results in a balanced sound enjoyable with many genres of music, and able to reveal different recording qualities without being harsh.
They are fairly comfortable, so longer listening sessions are possible.
Highly recommended for those who don't want bulkier headphones and those with limited funds.

Solid headphone
by bsteeves ,Jan 08 '05
Pros: Excellent sound reproduction without artifacts
Included carrying case, foldable design
Cons: A tad expensive for portable phones
If you're looking for good portable headphones and aren't into ear-buds, you could do much worse than to give a pair of PX-100's a listen. Their sound is crisp and clear with excellent bass reproduction for their size/weight. The cord is good & long (some might actually consider it too long for mobile use). They seem to require no burn-in time, so if you audition them at the store, you can be reasonably certain of their sound before taking them home. The included carrying case takes a little figuring to use, but once you get it it provides excellent protection. I also have a pair of Sennheiser HD-477 and the PX-100's compare very favourably. They blow my old MX-400 ear buds out of the water.

A rare bargain for the 21st Century
by ohmygunby ,Sep 15 '04
Pros: Crisp sound, warm bass...extremely comfortable Cons: They don't offer the retro's in the USA...!!!
I have owned these headphones for 2 days and I believe that taking them away from me could possibly cause me to go into shock. I have never in my life been so completely satisfied with a product such as these. I own a pair of AKG K-240's and these remind me of those...Clean crisp sound, nice warm bass, and super comfy. I am using them with my Ipod and they are simply superb. It's extremely rare nowadays to actually get a quality product for under $40. You won't be disappointed....

Great Headphones ...
by bjsimmons ,Jul 11 '05
Pros: Sound quality, Comfort, Construction & Price Cons: There are none
After reading reviews in Epinions and a few other sites I decided to go an buy a pair of PX 100 phones for my iPod mini. In a word - WOW! They sound great.
I purchased my first pair of Sennheiser headphones over 20 years ago and know that they make quality products. The PX 100 will hold their own with any of the so called studio phones out there.
The sound quality, comfort and price will make the PX 100 the standard for portable headphones. They come in white to match the Apple iPod line. Included is a neat hard plastic carry case. Look just go buy a pair, I assure you that you will not regret it.

Get a Glimpse of the High End
by darkstar7 ,May 31 '04
Pros: Sound Quality, Inexpensive Cons: No good for jogging/running
For only forty bucks, you can get a glimpse of high end sound. The most common misconception about good sound is the bass. Good bass isn't the bloated, boom-boom-boom you hear coming out of a car stereo. Good bass reproduction is tight & tuneful, and these $40 headphones get the bass right. The small headband means that these headphones will not stay in place while jogging/running.
