Pros: Processor, harddrive, and RAM are adequate for daily tasks. Nice screen size.
Cons: Windows XP. Size. Size. Size. Its just too big and clunky.

Disclaimer: This computer was provided to my wife via her company. It is a "business" computer. We would not have purchased. For HP/Compaq to really bill this laptop as a "portable" computer is a deceptive business practice. This computer is huge. ...

Pros: Pretty cheap.
Cons: Get what you pay for.

This thing is a pile of junk. The computer will suddenly reboot, without any warning. When it does, it will not power back on. The only workaround I could find was to start the laptop up and instantly shove the power supply connector back into the computer. Doing so about 10 times (shutting it off and trying again in-between each try) will generally yield a boot.

Do not buy from HP/Compaq. This is a common problem.

This is my second laptop, not counting the Apple's very first laptop 100 that I am safekeeping for its historic value. HP and Compaq merged and my laptop was born, I guess. ^^ I bought it for the sole purpose of replacing my then-aging desktop. Indeed, it did. I am doing heavy video-editing on my NX9010 while surfing the web and downloading porn at the same time!!! ^^ This workhorse is not only sturdy but outhandles the task that comparable desktop computers handles with maximum power. Mine is equipped with Pentium (Not Celeron nor Mobile) 4 chip weighing in at impressive 2.66GHz. 512MB RAM is sufficient enough although I am thinking of upgrading it to 1GB. Too much RAM never hurt anyone, right? Its JBL speakers are delight when I want to play some tunes. Three USB 2.0 ports and a firewire for my DV camcorder. Its wireless is 802.11b, not the latest or the fastest. But sufficient enough to let me surf the web while I am at the libray or iCafes. I am a firm believer in HP now. Go, Carly! I am buying HP again.
