Great desktop for under a grand. I purchased this computer for my dormroom to replace the computer I would be leaving home. It's fast, (2.53 Ghz) stable, (windows xp media center edition which supposedly is an upgraded version of win xp pro) and loud. I brought a stereo along w/this computer to college, but the packaged 200 watt Klipsch 2.1 speakers w/subwoofer drounds out my stereo and almost every other system on my hall. So far none of the optical drives have failed, and I find the keyboard and remote to be very handy when it comes to controlling your listening needs. If you don't have cable television running through this computer, there doesn't seem to be much difference though between xp media and xp home other then that it looks a lot cooler going into media center mode to look at pics, watch videos, or listen to music. Overall, a you get a solid bang for your buck that you can really feel with this computer.

This is a great PC. It s got a 4 way memory card insert for Smart Media, MMC, Compact Flash, and MEmory Stick so you don't have to hook up your Digital Camera. USB 2.0 connects to the front of the tower! Good standard Sound System. Klispch THX and Subwoofer. The downside is that it comes with cheap software, i.e Word Perfect, and Quattro Pro (a crappy Excel spin off) I recommend going out and getting the Microsoft Office Bundle.

I've had my computer for only a couple of weeks and have already experienced problems with the Emuzed tv tuner. Therefore, I can no longer watch or record TV programs. DVD's have also frozen in play mode. Other than those difficulties, I would recommend it only if they don't mind not being able to use the television portion. Get a cheaper computer.
