I have experimented this system with various power-sucking softwares, and I must say, this notebook hasn't flinched once. This notebook is ideal for people who are looking for a desktop replacement. It's not the best mobile PC because battery only lasts little less than 2 hours.
I've burned dvds with the burner, but the only negative is that it only takes DVD+R/RW media. It sucks because
-R/RWs are little cheaper. The burning speed isn't so bad for a laptop dvd burner (2.4x); I can copy a full movie in about 45 minutes.
Oh and also keep in mind that the video memory is shared. Which means 512mb of Ram isn't really accuate since 64mb of it goes into Video Memory. So you end up with 448 real ram. It hardly makes a difference.
I purchased this model as a refurbished unit, and I don't regret it one bit. I hundreds less compared to a new one, and it looks and performs perfectly.
