Pros: Great photo printing in color or black and white. Cons: Swapping black cartridge with gray cartridge.
The Photosmart 8450 is made for great photo printing and all purpose printing. It will print borderless on 4 x 6 inch photo paper all the way to a borderless 8.5 x 11 inch photo paper, plus it will print the new 4 x 12 inch Panorama photo paper. Not only ...
Pros: Inexpensive, easy, not necessary to hook up to computer... Cons: Very, very large, supplies somewhat expensive...
In an ongoing search for a relatively inexpensive way to print decent looking snapshots, I’ve stumbled upon the HP Photosmart 8450 printer. It’s a large, space-like looking affair with slots of various sizes for paper from 8x10 down to the small 4x6 ...
Pros: great print quality, nifty extra features Cons: horrible tech support, cable necessary for set-up isn't included
I have to start off by saying I'm not usually one to fall all over myself in love of Epinions policies, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Top Reviewers were receiving gifts from Epinions: items that had few or no reviews. I started out ...
Pros: Great Pictures, Easy to Use Cons: Very Large
Bought this as a "family" Christmas present. I wanted my 10 year-old daughter (who received a Kodak DX4530 digital camera for Christmas) to be able to print pictures directly from her camera without downloading them to the computer. I also wanted to ...
Pros: Easy to use, great prints, works without a computer! Cons: A little on the large size, not great for small spaces.
This is the long awaited opinion on my 2004 Christmas gift from Epinions, the HP Photosmart 8450. Thank You Epinions! I had no idea that having a photo printer would be so great! But it almost didn't happen... Last year my wife, daughter and I spent ...
Pros: Picture Quality and speed of printing. Cons: Photos suck the ink out of the Gray (100) cartridge.
I had an Epson photo printer but I got tired of paper jams, so I decided to go back to an HP printer. I originally had a Deskjet 720C (that I wrote a review on) that performed perfectly for years but didn't do justice to photographs. After much ...
Pros: Great pictures and lots of features Cons: Ink cost is excessive
I bought this printer in early December,2005 and have already dumped it (May '06) after my wife printed an album of pictures from a recent trip. We have had previous HP printers that used two color cartridges but the HP8450 uses an additional HP100 ...
Pros: Easy hook-up, accepts multiple memory cards, built in screen Cons: seems great so far, ink could last longer
I stumbled upon the HP Photosmart 8150 printer while browsing at office max, $169. Its a large, space-like looking affair with slots of various sizes for paper from 8x10 down to the small 4x6 photo. Its an inexpensive, easy to use, and ...
The Best Printer I have owned so far! by alanpgh ,Jan 18 '05
Pros: Fast printing, high quality documents and photos, useful LCD display, all types of card slots Cons: no problems, but the footprint is rather large
I have only had positive experiences with this product.
Bought it at Best Buy when the had a terrific sale in December of 2004. $249. price was reduced to $229., and I got another 10% off with a coupon. Somehow the price was under $200. before tax.
Also, got 25,000 reward points, which I think will be worth over $100. in future purchases. To get this my total purchase was $400., including other items.
Prints wonderful in both the photo mode and the non-photo mode. This 8450 replaced my 990. The 8450 photo prints are much sharper than 990. If you want sharp blacks, you may want to buy the HP 96 black cartridge.
The pictures are wonderful! by mikenpamela ,Jan 03 '05
Pros: Ease of use, Can use with a Pic bridge camera, Easy setup. Cons: None so far!
I treated myself to this printer after researching a lot of photo type printers especially to get caught up on my scrap booking. I am very pleased so far. I printed some of my sons pictures (wallet and 5x7) and I couldn't ask for better pictures (I use premium paper).
I bought this because I'd returned an all in one i wasn't happy with. so far we are very happy. the pictures we have printed are very sharp. the printer has a dust cover over the memory card slots which is truly appreciated since we have small curious children in the house. both text and photo printing is very good, and we didn't have any installation problems as some people have had with hp recently. the store where i bought this didn't have a display, (i had done my research on line and knew what i wanted), so i just got the box and brought it home. only when i took it out of the box did i realize how BIG it is. For a home printer, it's HUGE. But it's got great quality, though a bit loud...(the first time my boyfriend heard it, he said it was going to take off). but it was worth it. great photos, easy enough to use...very happy.
Great!! Photo Printer... by ice_44_1998 ,Dec 28 '05
Pros: ease of use ,, great!! photo qualities. very fast & quiet Cons: small screen hard for editing, ink prices are a bit costly.
bought the printer in spring 2005 have had absolutely no problems with the printer,, the ease of use is great, & the pictures it develops even greater.. ive had a epson photo printer for years which i still use as my main printer, am looking at downsizing my desk top and thought of useing the hp 8450 as main but cost of ink wont warrant it.have yet to hook it to my desktop have been using it as a stand alone but thinks picture looked at on a monitor would help in choosing alterations in the pic,, other then that great printer am glad i bought it,, and hears the price has dropped, so go get one,, was so satisfied with hp product that i ordered a hp media center desktop.. (may be my next review,,)
photosmart 8450, great choice! by bean899 ,May 05 '05
Pros: specific photo print inks, MANY features, snapshot or large print size options Cons: rather large
I actually received a lower model HP printer but traded it in for this model. I like that the ink cartridges are specifically for photos. The consumer has a choice for black inks, which allow a black/gray for photos or a black for basic everyday(none photo) printing. I choose to use this printer only for photos, I think the swapping inks would be a bit tiresome. All of my photos have come out beautiful. There are many options that I have not even begun to explore. This printer will last me for many years, because I believe the options offered will allow me to develop as I learn more about digital photography.
Beautiful photo prints...but man do you pay for them by rusty350 ,Apr 20 '06
Pros: Fantastic photos. Cons: Guzzles ink like a 1952 Buick. Unreal. Plus, it only lasted 6 months.
This printer does beautiful work. I mean REALLY beautiful prints. They can be held under running water and still look great.
The two things I DO NOT like about it, is that it DRINKS INK. I mean this baby sucks it up.
The other thing that really hacks me off....it only lasted 6 months and died. Of course I had my warranty which got me an new printer, a 8250 because the HP 8450 is no longer being made.
Up to 4,800 x 1,200 optimized dpi color, 1,200 x 1,200 black, or 8-ink color Up to 20 ppm black and color speed, 4-by-6 photo as fast as 27 seconds 2....More at Amazon Marketplace
