by vemartin Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Feb 02 '05
Pros: BrightView display; 5-n-1 Media Card reader; AMD processor; expandability.
Cons: The 115w AC Adapter is rather large and heavy.
I try to replace my (personal) personal computers once every three or so years if not sooner. Being in the Information Technology field I need to keep up abreast of changes as they evolve. And that means actually utilizing the technology I might find ...

Pros: Performance, Stability, Reliability.....
Cons: Hard Drive (only a very minor con.....)
The purchase of the HP Pavilion ZV5000Z Notebook is the greatest computer investment I have ever made. The value of the system is unmatched by competitors. The components are very nice. And the included software is fair. Top this off with some added ...

Pros: Solid, Comfortable lap feel, sound system, display screen
Cons: Everything else, cheap quality.
I bought my ZV5000 at Best Buy 6 months ago and spent 1,499$I think it was. I know a lot about computers, and how they work. So I called my uncle who works for the D.O.D In washington DC because he knows more about the brand names. I never pay attention. ...

Very nice notebook

by mairchik , Mar 18 '05
Pros: 64-bit processor, widescreen, nice look, most necessary ports, integrated card readers
Cons: too much of software preinstalled, very heavy ac power adapter as well as laptop itself
I have bought my notebook from HP online store last year and have been extremely satisfied so far with it. I paid $1225 and got $100 rebate check just a month after submission rebate forms when I got my laptop, though delivery itself of the laptop took ...

Well worth the money

by theubers , Dec 19 '05
Pros: Sturdy-Display-Ports
Cons: Heavy-Runs Hot
I've been using my zv5455 since March 05. I keep in on 24/7 as I use it as my primary computer. I have the P4 2.8 ghz / 512 RAM / ATI 9000IGP adapter(shared RAM). (Unlike the reviewer {"Tech"} that gave this product a 1 I know what's inside). ...

Excellent desktop replacement

by kesser , Jun 01 '05
Pros: Good Sound, fast, good graphics, long battery life
Cons: a bit heavy and could get hot sometimes (while doing graphics or video work)
After a few months with this laptop, I have only good things to say about it. I purchased it at hpshopping.com since I was able to customize it to fit my needs. I do graphic and video work and that requires power. So as a desktop replacement I got the ...

Good for the price I got
by pamshan ,Jan 02 '05
Pros: Cheap laptop, awesome speakers (harmon/kardon), robust
Cons: heavy, brick-like ac adapter, gets really hot (due to AMD athlon processor?)
I got this laptop during labor day sale for 1050 - 300(rebate) = $750. The base price was actually 599 but i upgraded the ram from 256 to 512, got a inbuilt wireless card and upgraded video ram from 32 to 64. I think i got a very good deal :)

Some of the things i like about my laptop are:
(1) excellent battery life (can watch about 2 movies without ac supply when battery is fully charged).
(2) excellent speakers/sound card. I have not yet heard any better speakers in most of the other latest laptops.
(3) Price
(4) Robust

Things I, DON'T like about this laptop:
(1) No inbuilt mic ( but most of the latest laptops dont have one)
(2) Extremely heavy laptop
(3) ac adapter of the size of a brick (can be used as a weapon :))
(4) small screen resolution (only 1024x768 - I did not upgrade this and now i regret)

HP Never Again
by don424 ,Feb 09 '06
Pros: none
Cons: EVERYTHING about their product and service absolutely sucks.
I bought this unit for my daughter for college. Have had it 14 months and the hard drive crashed twice. The first time we called for service, they SENT a hard drive for my daughter to install herself....yeah right. It's now the second crash and they've had it 3 weeks. Was supposed to be a 4 day turnaround haha. Everytime we call the service people we can't understand them. They keep making notes on their computer about my case and what's happening but everytime we call there are NO notes from the last call. They even wanted to charge me $795.00 for service that is covered under warranty. These people are morons. HP products suck and so does their service. NEVER again........particularly online. You're better off getting a unit from a retailer.

This laptop is junk
by ozerimar1 ,Jan 20 '09
Pros: None its worthless
Cons: Pass this one up please
Do not buy  this laptop from anywhere or anyone. It is plagued with many problems. It is on par with the same amount of cost as owning and maintaining a boat and I am not kidding! As soon as it starts giving you problems like:Power jack, Hard drive, Over heating, Screen problems or anytime it shuts off on you for no rhyme or reason just toss it or parts it out. This laptop is a menace I know because I repair them.Take time and save your money instead on resaerching which laptop give you a long service life and offers better support.

Oversight of manufacturer makes this computer worthless.
by wagna4u ,Jul 28 '07
Pros: Bright Large display. Good hardware for the money. Plenty of ports
Cons: Plug from the power adapter will not stay in. Goes into hibernation without warning.
The tech specs on this machine are not bad. The processor is good enough to do most tasks the typical user will want... be it home photo editing, playing movies or playing most computer games.

Overall, the machine looks nice and sturdy. It is heavy and must be considered as a desktop replacement. Its weight and size do not make this laptop computer very portable. The screen is bright and large. It is perfect to watch movies on. The computer contains a reasonable amount of ports.

Now for the cons ... and the cons are significant. The biggest problem for this machine is the faulty design of the power adapter plug. This design flaw makes this computer unusable. The plug falls out and will not stay in for anything short of superglue! The battery life is short, a tad over an hour with wireless on.

Overall, many other computers out there do not have this problem and you will be happy not dealing with these usability-killing flaws.
