Cons: No sheet feeder.

Hewlett Packard Photosmart 2710 All-In-One InkJet Printer.

by giter_dun69 , Jun 30 '07
Pros: Stand alone photo printer/copier, wireless network ability, very reliable, quiet, reads most memory cards
Cons: Included software could cause easily fixed problems requiring a support call
We have had this printer installed on our wireless network at home for 3 years or more now and have never had a problem with it. We have 4 pc's and 5 laptops using it and have never encountered any problems installing the software or using the printer. ...

HP truly rules the printer world

by yenih , Mar 06 '07
Pros: prints very fast, awesome functions, high black prints, pretty good color prints, fair price
Cons: shakes a lot and make a lot of noise when printing
HP is one of the few brands I always consider for my printing jobs. This is my 3rd HP(and I have used other brands like canon and currently own an Epson too) and I must say, its very good for everyday printing! First, it is all purpose that includes ...

Look closely before you buy this one.

by pawilh , Mar 25 '06
Pros: Stand-alone copy / printing from memory cards.
Cons: Firmware issues; difficult software/network setup; card slots not enclosed on inside.
I purchased an HP Photosmart 2710 for home use from a local Best Buy during the early summer of 2005. I made the purchase specifically to replace an ancient (720C) HP stand-alone printer and scanner pair I had, although both still worked okay at the ...

Good all-in-one when it works; installing (software) difficult

by dutchman65 , Aug 14 '05
Pros: Printing, scanning, and copying quality, user friendly control panel.
Cons: Installing software, annoying problems, no document feeder, ink alignment.
I bought this all-in-one because I needed the scanner and copier functionality and didn't want separate devices for this. I also needed Mac compatibility and good overall quality. The wireless networking is a bonus for me, I have not yet used it but plan ...

If you were sold this bill of "goods" try to sue HP!

by be_whysir , Jan 21 '07
Pros: None
Cons: Time consuming installation, cumbersome software, and potentially irresolvable compatibility issues.
This product is not truly Microsoft Windows (XP) compatible. There is no direct way to add the device without the CD. The software is cumbersome to use, takes in excess of 30 minutes to install, and must be uninstalled and reinstalled (over an ...

Does a Disservice to the HP Printer Brand Name

by mom_bizowner , Apr 05 '08
Pros: Sleek shell, I guess.
Cons: Doesn't work.
It's not the Twilight Zone -- it's the HP 2710 All in One, and it stinks. We purchased for a small office (2 PCs and one Mac) in early 2005 and were underwhelmed from day one. I kept thinking, "it's an HP, it's going to come through!" and "it must be ...

EASIEST TO USE FOR HOME & OFFICE
by mcoluccio ,Nov 04 '05
Pros: Compact, easy to use and economical.
Cons: The price is still over $300.00 but really worth it!
I received an HP Photosmart 2710 all-in-one Printer and let me tell you, it's the best one I've ever used. It is so simple to use, very inexpensive and makes great copies- clear and versatile. I even bought an extra one for my office since copies come out so clear and professional.

The price is not really bad when you think that it becomes a fax, a scanner, a copier and a printer all in one. It eliminates taking up too much space. It makes color or black & white copies and prints. It is small in comparison to other monstrosities and is really a great buy.

My IBM is huge, cluttering, expensive and really confusing to use. This HP Photosmart 2710 is really a winner!

It does what it claims
by execpcsupport ,Jul 10 '05
Pros: Easy to setup, performs exactly as they advertise.
Cons: Installation takes a long time. Set aside 30 minutes for it.
I am a computer support analyst. As such I have worked with many multi-function devices, and am often called in by clients when something doesn't work and they can't figure it out. The HP 2710 works right out of the box. The instructions for setup and networking are clear and easy to follow. The neat thing about it is that in a house where you have multiple wireless computers you can send out faxes wirelessly from any computer! I have also been in these places as follow up for other networking issues where routers have to be replaced etc. Guess what? The networking connection on the printer stays consistently up and available and I have not had to tinker with them at all, and this has been over a long period of time.

Good printer
by amf543 ,Mar 30 '06
Pros: Ease of use, scanning, copying, fax
Cons: Paper jams, unable to hand-feed paper
I purchased this printer for my wedding (printing invitations, programs, etc). This printer works great on regular paper, but thick cardstock (90#+) tends to jam the printer about 90% of the time.

I printed the invitations and they turned out wonderfully, but I will have to take some of my other projects to a professional printer.

I love having a printer with a fax, scanner, and copier. It has helped us greatly in copying contracts, checks, and all of the fun stuff that goes with wedding planning.

Slowest printer EVER!
by forddna ,Apr 08 '08
Pros: It has no advantage over any other all-in-one, so NONE.
Cons: Slower than a snail with a limp.
I must have gotten a lemon. I love HP printers. I've never had nothing but good things to say about them. I've had this 2710 for a few years, and any time I print something from a similar printer, I am amazed at how fast those printers are. I did not realize how slooooow mine was. I just set it to print about 10 pages in Black ink only, went and walked/jogged a mile, and came back, and it was still printing!

Great All-In-One! Excellent performance!
by sweetpeahiker ,Jan 14 '06
Pros: Excellent quality machine and printouts. Convenience of four machines in one. Space-saver.
Cons: Installation can be a headache when dealing with the drivers.
This printer is an excellent all-in-one (printer/fax/scanner/copier). It does all things well.

The installation can be a headache. I had an issue with the printer driver and Windows Service Pack 2, but got it resolved after a couple calls to HP.

Once it was installed, the printer has performed better than my highest expectations. Pictures, business cards, scans, photocopies, general text files...all come out with a very nice quality.

For regular text files or copies where I don't need high quality, I do change the copy/print quality to Fast so the ink lasts a little longer. The photo ink cartridges to work better if you are doing a photo project.

wireless network printer review
by was1ykiki ,Apr 05 '05
Pros: wireless enabled colour screen inbuilt to view mem card pics
Cons: not really any cons to mention
absolutely fantastic, we have it linked up on a wep encrytped network at home so that the multiple computers which are also wireless can access it in one place, whilst also acting as a fax machine, i mean come on fax machines of a similar standard are half the price if that so this is a bargain and a half. it ease of setup and how it came was brilliant, the instructions were really easy to follow and the menu system it has on the printer itself is easy to navigate. we as a family also like the hp software suite that comes with, a colleague of mine was having trouble seeing a fax of something i had photocopied at work, i loaded up the software asked it to scan it, crop it and send it and woila, hey presto it was fine. i give this 5stars, it may seam a little pricy, however its well worth the investment, especially in a multiple computer network which is preferably wireless

OK performance, but has fundamental glitches...
by color4u ,Aug 09 '05
Pros: Graphics are OK. Small foot print is a nice feature for a home office.
Cons: Wireless feature has minimal value when using a VPN.
Have had my new 2710 now for 3 months in my home office, where I have used multi-function scanner/copier/faxes for a number of years. Previous Brother and HPG85i units performed really well.

Attracted by the moderate price, I didn't realize how much I'd miss a document feeder for printing and faxing. Printing graphics are fairly good. Scanning is a bit slow with the bundled HP software. Hooking up the fax on a shared line was a bit of a pain... between the phone company and the setup manual this took way too many tries.

The wireless capability was a big draw for me to use it as a shared printer on the home network. Unfortunately, the VPN used with the business PC blocks wireless capability. The only way to print is either hard wire it with an ethernet cable, or disconnect the VPN to print... which makes the wireless capability almost useless for most home office use.

Can't give this unit more than a "C" for the job I needed it to do.
