Pros: inexpensive, easy to use, good introductory point-and-shoot digital camera Cons: shutter lag, downtime between photos, some bad exposures
Nothing more than a basic digital camera for point-and-shoot photo takers, the HP Photosmart 635 does an adequate job taking snapshots with its 3x zoom lens and 2-megapixel resolution. The HP Photosmart 635 is a budget digital camera ...
Pros: Quality, options, very user friendly Cons: Battery life, battery life, battery life... and very low resolution video
The HP PhotoSmart 635 camera... lots of options for a great price and only one downside that I've noticed. This camera is perfect for those who don't want to shell out a lot of dough but would like a solid digital camera. This digital camera is the ...
Pros: Picture quality, lightweight, compact, glass lens w/cover, auto focus, auto/manual flash, easy to use Cons: Short battery life (2-AA)
The Hewlett Packard 635 Photosmart camera packs a lot of options into a compact package. After a bad experience with a previous HP camera, we hesitantly decided to give HP a second try. We were pleasantly surprised! We are impressed with the ...
I was not really in the market of looking for a digital camera as I already own a JVC 500 digital camcorder/camera. Yet, when I received the HP camera for christmas I was impressed so much that I put my other camera up for auction on Ebay. This ...
Pros: Easy to use/ great picture quality/ nice video capability Cons: Two buttons for email and print is too much
First of all - 2MP - is this enough? Seems to be enough for the standard 4x6 picture. If you plan to do a lot of posters or partial enlargements of your photo you might go for another one. For me - this camera is easy to use and with the docking station ...
Pros: Good 2MP pic for 4x6 or 5X7, Cheap, Lot of features, Solid feel Cons: limitations of enlargements, battery usage, can't print pic from Kodak Picture Maker
Just got a great deal from Staples paying only $99 Cdn ($70 US) for this little camera. It has tons of features including a 3x optical lense (next to impossible to find in a camera costing only $100 Cdn). The only thing I wish it had as a video out ...
Pros: Nice menus
SD card
decent picture quality Cons: BATTERY LIFE
much better value cameras available
This was the first digital camera that I owned, received it as a Christmas gift, yet after a couple months, it left me looking for a better quality camera. While this is truly not a BAD camera for it's time, but compared to the more recent cameras, this ...
Pros: Low cost, convenient, easy to use Cons: Eats batteries like a kid with candy
Great little camera. Really simple to use, and takes great pictures. I've tried several size memory cards in it and works well with all of them, even the 512mb that I have in it now. The memory card slot is inside the battery compartment, so when you ...
Pros: Clear pictures and easy to use. Cons: Bulky, and devoured batteries at a high rate.
This was my first digital camera. I bought it at a Staples Midnight Madness sale in late 2004. It lasted about a year. It was a huge disappointment, though I didn't realize how bad it was until I had used my second camera (a Canon PowerShot A400) for a while.
It took decent pictures. The quality was never really a problem. This camera's fatal flaw was its battery efficiency. I often could not take 5 pictures without the batteries draining. I am not exaggerating. I could actually go through a dozen batteries in a day. Then, if I left the batteries in the camera, and didn't use the camera for a few days, the batteries would still be drained. I thought that this was normal at the time. It died out a little over a year after I bought it, and about a month after I bought the docking/charging cradle for it. Not surprisingly, it was a failure in the battery compartment.
Great pocket size Digital Camera with loads of features by chippity ,Dec 26 '04
Pros: Easy to use, takes clear sharp photos, whether they be normal, distant or close-up. Cons: Has a very high battery use.
The only problem I have found is that this Camera goes through batteries like water through a sieve. I found that it is best to use only best quality batteries, eg. the Sanyo AA NiMH, 2300mah batteries which have a good shelf life and will definitely last longer than cheaper brands of the same rating. Just make sure that you have a stock of fully recharged AA NiMH batteries with you and, if travelling, it is a good idea to recharge, overnight, all your batteries that were used during the day. Other than that the camera has loads of features not found on more expensive cameras. I also have an extra 64MB memory card which gives me about 740 shots on 'Better' image quality setting so I can click away for ages without having to dock and download daily. I've had my camera for 10 months and have not had a problem with it and don't expect to.
Pros: Takes nice pictures
Not difficult to use Cons: Uses batteries FAST!!!!!
Damages memory cards
Stops working as it pleases
You may lose pictures
From the very first day I had this camera it had problems. I had to send the original one back and get another one because it wouldn't even turn on. The second one appeared to work for a while until it too would no longer turn on. I also lost all the pictures off of my memory card and was forced to buy another one. I was told it was most likely a problem with the memory card so I purchased another brand. This happened yet again and I was convinced it was the camera not the memory card. I have lost 2 memory cards, many pictures and countless hours of my life trying to fix it and retrieve my pictures. I have not even had this camera for a whole year yet. HP has sent me a third camera, and they are very nice about it, but it just isn't worth the hassle.
Battery Life Makes it usuable by cperks ,Nov 10 '04
Pros: Not worth it Cons: Battery life is a deal breaker
This was on add-on to a HP desktop I puchased -- heavily subsidised by a rebate (which was never sent). Took pictures one day, 3 days later the batteries were dead. Same story over and over. The solution from HP Support? - dont use alkaline batteries- Only rechargeable. Please. The piece of crap is responsible for putting the Energizer Bunny on the endangered list. How can everyone complain about the batteries, and still give it high marks?! My advise--Get a different camera , offering same picture quality and a normal life of 40-50 pictures.
Hp635 Camera -Printer Combo by taurus13 ,Dec 13 '03
Pros: Real good price for the quality of the camera and its features Cons:
You need to keep an extra set of batteries with you, !
I purchased the camera and printer package that comes with the battery charger unit and recharagable batteries.
The package is a great deal. They were clever to include the battery charger and rechargeable batteries. The camera is easy to use, the menu is very intuitive. The camera does not feel cheap, it feels like a real camera.
The printer is great - though the cartridges are pricy, they
even include the photo color cartridge, a real plus.
If asked if I would buy the camera based on what I know now, the answer would definitely be a resounding Yes!
