Pros: the price Cons: heavy, eats batteries, tricky to take good photos, sensitive to arm movement or subject movement
This camera was purchased for me last Christmas and I'm just now writing a review on it, because I've had to have it sent in for repairs and replacements several times. I've had it with this over-priced child's toy, and here's why: When I own a camera ...

Pros: It takes wonderfully clear and detailed pictures if you don't move. Cons: It EATS batteries bad, plan on investing in a dozen rechargables.
I have had my Photosmart 733 for a couple years now and am happy with it except for two things. First, from the time you press the button to take the picture to the time it snaps the picture can be anywhere from 1/2 second to 2 seconds. It is very ...

Wow. This is bad.
by puggleowner08 ,Nov 19 '08
Pros: SOMETIMES it takes okay pictures. Cons: It takes FOREVER to process photos, takes forever to take pics, etc.
Okay, my parents got this camera from my 26 year old brother because he had gotten a new camera. Now I know WHY he got a new one. It is way too big, it takes forever to process pictures, the flash doesn't work all the time, sometimes you have to keep pressing the picture button to take a picture, and one little movement of your arm and the picture is ruined.
For Christmas, I'm getting the Fujifilm Z20fd camera. It's WAY better and I can't WAIT for Xmas.

Big Camera/Small Price
by berniez40 - Top 500,Sep 11 '04
Pros: Easy to use, great price, quality pictures. Cons: Sucks down batteries fairly quickly.
The HP is a fantastic little camera for many reasons. It is easy to use, the pictures are usually good-excellent quality w/minimal processing in Photo Shop, and when used correctly, this little bugger pays for itself. I have used it on several e-bay items, and it is so easy to transfer pictures from memory stick/computer/ to web page that it simply makes life a little easier. The 3.3 megapixels may sound middling range to most, but I have found, as already stated, that with minimal processing you will be in possession of some seriously high quality pictures. The videos eat up memory quickly, but it is fun to use the video w/voice option. Just make sure to pack spare memory sticks and batteries if you do so, as this has a tendency to suck them down rather quickly. The zoom lens is at least adequate, though not stellar. This camera has paid for itself over the past year, and we continue to enjoy using it.

Great Digital Camera
by leighannohio ,Jun 29 '04
Pros: ready to use after purchase, cables to hook to your computer or printer and more Cons: have to purchase battery charger, camera case and dock seperate.
I really like the HP Photosmart 733 camera. I have taken pictures of many gradations, weddings, reunion and more. It's nice to be able to take pictures download them on your computer and email or print out in the same day. You have the option to take pictures, movie with voice, or add voice to any picture. Nice to add voice to a picture so you know what the subject is. It's easy and fun for the whole family.

Long processing time and doesn't adjust well to different lighting situations
by arena_blanca ,Mar 24 '06
Pros: You can junk this camera and use the batteries and memory card with another brand. Cons: Long processing time and doesn't adjust well to different lighting situations
This camera was an impulse buy for me. I wish I had researched it beforehand. The number one con is the long processing time. Even trying to capture my son's smile was impossible because it says "processing" for a minimum of three seconds after every shot, and sometimes up to 15 seconds, during which time you can't take other shots.
The second thing that infuriated me was the camera's inability to adjust to indoor lighting. I would take one shot and it would come out dark. I don't have professional lights but I would flip on one house light off to the side somewhere, take the same shot and now it would come out to bright. I would try different combinations of lights while my subjects got impatient, but getting a photo indoors is a matter of luck.

Amaze your Friends with Incredible Photos
by desertsunset ,Apr 13 '05
Pros: Compact, simple to use, top quality digital photos for a very modest price. Cons: Shutter lag time is challenging when trying to shoot a moving target at close range.
The HP 733 Photosmart 3.2 Digital Camera allows you to shoot hundreds of quality photos a day, just like the pros, so you can choose the very best shots to save, send and print. Zoom in close for stunning portraits and exquisite closeups of flowers or objects. Take this compact baby on a touring vacation and build yourself a keepsake portfolio that will impress your family and friends and bring endless enjoyment for years to come. Be sure to take an extra memory card or two along with you plus the charging dock so that when you are through for the day, you can simply drop the camera into the dock and it will be up and ready for another day of shooting. If you are not near a computer to upload your pix, just insert an extra memory card when you need another couple of hundred shots. You can delete the shots you do not want right in the camera, but I like to examine each one full size on the monitor to make absolutely sure whether or not it is a keeper.
