Hewlett Packard iPAQ h2215 Pocket PC

Pros: Rechargeable/replacement batteries, bright clear screen, dual slots. Nevo remote.Microsoft software. Weight.
Cons: Not wirelessly equipped, could have left off the bluetooth in exchange. A better protective case.

This little wonder is the best pocket PC on the market for the money, ounce per dollar. I thought my laptop gave me more freedom, technology is a blast and it keeps getting better!

Pros: Great performer, solid integrity, cool design, excellent screen
Cons: none (you will probably need to buy a few additional accessories)

I'm very happy with the iPaq 2215. It's a fun device and I absolutely love the fact it is highly expandable yet still small and lightweight with a fantastic design to boot. I give it a definite excellent rating. At about $280 (average inet price) it's quite a decent buy (the Dell Axim is laggy performer and costs just about $70 less, so if you looking for a great (may be the best) design/value/performance device - get the iPaq 2215.

Pros: Sleek comfortable side grips, bright clear screen, dual slots (CF,SD) reliable and fast processor.
Cons: No built in wireless, carrying case isn't practical.

I added a CF wireless card to complete the package now -complete satisfaction top to bottom. I highly recommend this PDA. I've had a few including another Ipaq and a newer Toshiba with built in wireless. This one blows them both out of the water on speed and screen quality. Besides that its design looks better than any other PDA on the market.

I love this PDA. I have had several and this is, by far, the best. Great screen and slots for SD or Compact flash cards.


After buying the PDA and using it for several months, Nevo (the remote control program) just wouldn't work. I contacted HP and said they would ship it to their factory, and return it. So the support was great.


One thing I don't like is the carrying case. I do realize that since the case came with the unit, I wasn't going to get a top of the line case.

The HP 2215 Pocket PC is an excellent organizer for the busy person on the go. It has 64 mb of internal memory with the ability to expand through the use of a Secure Digital or Compact Flash Media. It has an excellent color display and bright colored display and fits easily in the palm of your hand for easy computing. The Windows based handheld comes complete with Pocket Word, Excel and MSN. You can easily add many other of your needed and favorite programs including mapping software, Pocket Quicken, and Microsoft Powerpoint and many others. The unit comes with a 400 MHZ internal processor and Wireless Bluetooth Capabilities. One excellent feature to this handheld is it's internet abilities. Through the use of a Wireless Lan Compact Flash Modem you can easily turn this PDA into a wireless internet device for easy surfing on the go.

The 2215 is an awesome PDA. I had a IPAQ 3600 series last year and I recently upgraded. With integrated Bluetooth, a CF & SD slot plus the 2003 OS it’s super fast and expandable. It’s very small and light and has a good amount of memory out of the box. I would recommend this to anyone who can find a good deal on the device.

Pros: Compact, Light weight, clear screen, great battery life.
Cons: The Blue Tooth technology conflicts with Wireless networking cards (using a lap top).

I have had my iPAQ 2215 for about 1 month and I love it. The speed is fast, clear screen, and the wireless feature (with a separately purchased wireless card) is fantastic. All applications work great.
The only downside (software related) is that with the new Pocket PC 2003 I can not sync my Microsoft Money 2000 program.
If your considering purchasing a new hand held PC, the iPAQ 2215 is a great choice.

Pros: Perfect thing; probably justified the price I paid already
Cons: Rubber sidebars fall off; service seems unreacheable

Would be perfect device for years to come, if the rubberized sidebars wouldn't fall off - one earlier, the other just a week ago. I don't think it is possible to find out where to send it for repairs - at least not from the www.hp.com website.

Otherwise the device and the Pocket OS are reaching the point of perfection [excpet for the rubber sidebars which fall off]; uses are infinite. I don't particularly like technical gadgets, but this one I am using all the time.

Pros: Great Windows Pocket PC operating system and colorful screen.
Cons: FLIMSY case and WEAK battery cover. Also limits selection of options.

I bought this HP IPAQ 2215 WITH extended warrant in April 2004 to replace the Palm Vx. Incidentally, I've owned 5 versions of Palm handhelds since first introduced. They were well built. For the most part, I like the HP IPAQ.
It took some getting used to but I enjoyed the new Windows interface. It's fast and seamless with Windows desktop and I didn't experience nearly the contacts overwrite mistakes that I did with Palm OS. Then I make the big NO-NO. I bought a custom wallet and put Velcro on back of the flimsy IPAQ case, including the battery cover. It stopped working when I pulled it off the FIRST time from this wallet. I sent it to HP repair; verdict: "battery cover not covered under warranty;" COST: 146.00!!!! OUCH!! On second thought, I made a mistake thinking that these products were worth the upgrade.
I'm back in Palm again. Lesson learned: HP makes very flimsy case covers. Be VERY careful where and how you store and carry HP IPAQ 2215. The battery cover is critically fragile.

Pros: Price/perfomance/upgradability
Cons: Sidegrips and joystick button both fall off after prolonged use. (HP knows about it too)

Check out the web, you'll see plenty of complaints about the sidegrips not staying on. As a matter of fact, a second market has cropped up which sells screw on sidegrips for around 50 bucks. I've personally seen two instances where the joystick (button) falls out of the unit, too. Otherwise folks, it's really a great machine!!
