Pros: Price, picture quality, inputs Cons: Sound, battery for remote.
We needed a replacement for our aging 20" living room TV, which had developed an annoying high-pitched whistle. Not wanting to shell out $2500 for a high-def thin-panel display, I opted for yesterday's technology at 1/10 the price. I found the JVC ...

Pros: Great price, EXCELLENT picture, lots of inputs, easy to setup. Cons: A little larger than standard 27" TV's.
I just recently bought this TV to replace the little 13" Toshiba I had in the bedroom. I currently have a different model 27" JVC in my living room and because I've had no troubles with it, I decided to go with this TV since I got it for only $200CDN. ...

Pros: Inexpensive. Cons: Picture, sound.
This was the cheapest name-brand 27" TV I could find. I paid $270CDN at Best Buy. Toshiba has a similar TV for about $30 more, but I couldn't see any difference, so I went for the JVC. I used to own a 19" Sony Trinitron, and so I'm used to very good ...

Dark Picture
by techsavvie ,Dec 30 '05
Pros: Nice size screen Cons: Picture so dark at times all you see are eyes and teeth.
My elderly mother bought this TV a year ago and now her picture is very, very dark. We've tried to re-set the brightness and that helps, but you have to bring the colour and tint down so far that the colour looks artificial. Future Shop says they can send it out for repair and after 60 days if the repair isn't satisfactory, they will replace the set. Now my poor mother will have to do without a TV until the questionable repairs are done! Life is too short for this kind of disruption. We are not happy!

Normal T.V. But great price.
by kevinlekiller ,Apr 18 '05
Pros: Bang For the Buck, Lots Of inputs, Good picture quality. Cons: Heavy, Ugly, Big, Cheap Speakers.
I Bought two of these T.V.'s last summer, They have lots of great features.
The T.V. has 3 Inputs, which is great, both inputs are different, the 3 of them support composite, but Input one has also s-video, Input 2 has component and Input 3 is at the front.
It also has a sound output (regular stereo composite).
If you loose your remote you can still change the inputs through the settings. All the T.V.'s I had in the past you could not do that. You can Also adjust bass, treble and balance through the settings. The T.V. supports SAP, V.Chip and closed caption. The video quality is pretty good.
That's about all the Great Things the television has.
The Downsides are: Its heavy, BIG, Ugly(black) and the speakers dont sound too good (I use my home theatre so I dont mind).

A really good value!
by wkdf ,Feb 06 '06
Pros: Price and features. Cons: None at this price.
I saw this next to a RCA and Sylvania at K-Mart and this had the best picture. Lot's of features at this price including component video in and audio out. Run a DVD movie through the component video and run the sound through your stereo and you won't believe how good the experience is for a tube TV. Otherwise a good picture although I had to fiddle with it a couple of days to get it right...decent sound...good quality...nice looking brown cabinet in an era of all silver cabinets.

JVC's "lemon"
by smitee ,Aug 15 '07
Pros: JVC's reputation for quality
All else works as described. Cons: Worst picture quality and brightness in my limited experience.
Purchased November 2004, Vision's in Burnaby, BC
Hopeless aid from store and none from JVC
Cost 348.00 with tax...
Clearly inferior in ability to project image with required brightness. Usually looking at almost black screen instead of images. I highly recommend NOT purchasing.
