Pros: Superior color corrections, masking, sharpening, resizing and cropping/adjusting images. Equal in filters and printing. Cons: Does not run on Mac; layering , styles and composition do not match Photoshop
Traditionally the competition for Paint Shop Pro is ULead's Photo Impact 7, Corel Essentials 11, and Adobe Photoshop Elements II. But now Jasc has leapt past all of these similarly priced tools ($70-$140) and is seriously challenging the market and price ...
Pros: Powerful, Cheap, Scripts, Better Vector Editing, New Tools, Customizable Shortcuts Cons: Slow, Needs time to adapt
PSP, Paint Shop Pro is one of the most popular graphics editors in the market. It is cheap, fast and easy-to-use. But PSP8 makes us ask whether it is the fastest and most easy-to-use now. As the race between graphics editors got tougher, in my opinion ...
Pros: Simple but great depth - the most used tools for a small price Cons: Text handling lacks sophistication
I've been doing prepress and design since the days of wax rollers and light tables, although not as what most people would call a professional. For many years, I worked in the printing industry or related businesses, and often found myself having to lend ...
Pros: Easy to use, cost efficient, multi purpose Cons: To learn everything you will need to spend some time working at it.
Now that most people use digital cameras or scan their photos into a digital image, they will need a way to edit their photos. Paint Shop Pro will be very handy for you, even a beginner. You can adjust the color, remove red eye, edit imperfections, and ...
Pros: Easy to use software with tons of features. Cons: Takes a while to load on my computer.
About a year ago, my Aunt bought me Paint Shop Pro 7 because I just bout a digital camera and wanted to edit my pictures. I loved the software and just had to buy version 8.0 There are so many features in 8.0 that you’ve not seen in 7.0. One of the ...
Pros: Well designed software at a reasonable price. Cons: Needs a lot of memory to run fast.
I've had version 8 for roughly 4 months now, in that time I've used it maybe a dozen times. Why didn't I use it more? Mostly due to the fact that this program has a high memory requirement which is needed to run at it at an optimum level of performance. ...
Pros: Easy to use if you stick to the basics; the one-touch photo fix performs miracles. Cons: Version 8.01 is awful; make sure you buy version 8.10 or download the upgrade.
I use Paintshop Pro professionally, because it is the only Windows program aside from the full professional version of Photoshop that handles CMYK, which is something that would only be of use to professional publishers. I also use it at home, because ...
NEXT BEST TO THE FAMOUS ADOBE PHOTOSHOP AND IT IS EASIER TOO! by beckav ,Apr 25 '04
Pros: Great interface and effects. Alot of tutorials for the very new to the pro. Cons: Has a very slow start up which is frustrating at times.
I have taken Photoshop classes and frankly it's just too much program for me. PSP8 does most all of the same effects, uses the same filters and plugins. The work comes out just as professional looking for my needs and it is much easier to use, yet is a professionl program not a printshop type! Great Job Jasc version 8 really rocks, although many version 7 users have trouble adjusting at first. I started by finding tutorials and forums on the internet, then started taking free online classes to learn basics and I feel comfortable with editing my photos with it now, the one touch photo fix button does wonders by itself. My only complaint is the slow boot up.
Pros: Quick and Easy to use and learn. Cons: Stalls computers with little memory. Crashes easily.
This programs is a great one for those who want the results that Adobe Photoshop gives, but don't have the hundreds of dollars needed to purchase it.
Most of the tools are easy to use, and require no foreknowledge of how to use them.
Its a great program for those who want to touch up digital pictures or clean up computer graphics.
Overall the program is great, but the computer on which it is running, needs a lot of memory as this program eats up memory, often crashing or freezing for extended periods of time until your virtual memory paging is increased.
If you have the memory to spare, I highly recommend this product.
My website has never looked better! by hydeacademy ,Dec 10 '03
Pros: inexpensive, powerful, many options for inexperienced and experienced graphics designers alike Cons: there is a lot of information to absorb

I really can't compare PSP to its previous versions because I've never owned any. I was so pleased to find PSP8 for $70 with a $30 rebate.
I'm a complete newbie with graphics software. This is the first I've ever owned. But I have been very impressed with this program. I have been able to create awesome looking web graphics and my site is looking very professional. I think my favorite feature is Tubes. I was able to find thousands of sites on the net with tubes for free download and they didn't need to be converted to work with my version. I've been able to create awesome backgrounds and jewelized buttons.
So far I've been pretty satisfied. Like I said, I'm new at this and this program has been exactly what I needed for my minor web designing. I look forward to discovering the many facets this program has available for more experienced users.
Pros: None--this "Upgrade" is a rip-off Cons: This "Upgrade" is a rip-off
I've been using Paint Shop version 6 for a while, and decided to try the new version. Version 8 is slower, the interface has changed for no particular reason, and the "$30 upgrade rebate" is a fraud. (I've been waiting over three months with no rebate check in sight. Their customer service people say "it's processing".)
