Pros: Low cost compared to other component CD recorders. Cons: Poorly designed and constructed, with a worthless warranty.
I purchased one of these from Best Buy last January when it was on sale for $169.99. I planned to use it to archive some old records and tapes that aren't available on compact disc, and record some live music. What a nightmare! So far I've had two units ...

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
by matyglenn ,Oct 04 '07
Pros: NONE Cons: Everything. It's worthless.
This thing worthless. I've ruined lots of CD's on this machine. It records a few songs, then gives me an error message that's not even listed in the troubleshooting section of the manual. Right now, it won't even power up. The reset button is possibly on the machine for the enjoyment of toddlers because it serves no useful purpose in actually resetting the machine. "Hardware powersource" is it's favorite malfunction message. No where in the manual can I find that phrase. For the few cd's I've gotten it to record, there's no track gap between some of the songs to signal that it's time to change to the next track, so I have to advance to the next tract manually. Some tracks don't even appear on the cd at all even after it says it's recorded a song. Ghost tracks, I suppose. We bought it at Best Buy during a sale. For all the cd's it's ruined for me, I could have used the money I spent in those cd's coupled with what I paid for this piece of mess and bought a Sony or something else with quality.

Doesn't Deliver
by centauri-a4 ,Mar 27 '06
Pros: Looks nice on shelf. Cons: CDs can be used as coasters.
Same criticisms as the two previous reviews. You have to stop recording, and answer "N" to the "Finalize" question, then set-up to record again if you want track breaks between songs.
Another problem I am having is it will not read a CD-RW (I can't tell if it's recording because there's no playback). It just says "Track Unreadable".
The manual is poorly written and unclear.
I too have ruined dozens of CDs.

SELL IT IF YOU HAVE IT !!!
by tanaisha ,Nov 28 '05
Pros: Ok to record form one CD to another with 22 tracks or less. Cons: Everything except the one pro.
This product is the worse. I wanted to copy my LPs but that turned out to be a disaster. The manual is not detailed and there is no way to trouble shoot. I do not recommend anyone to buy this #@!%.

Don't EVER buy a KLH CDR2000
by amjohns ,Jun 05 '06
Pros: You have to be KIDDING.
Cons: Take your pick. This thing sucks.
This has to be the worst piece of ( ) I have ever seen. In it's existance, I have seen probably 40 or 50 comments from people on this device. I have experience with it also. One was bought for a church and used to record the sermons eTc. Besides the constant "Hardware Failure" Please reboot messages, and the "Waiting for Input" messages, it thing is not worth .50 cents. If you have one give it away to your worst enemy or someone you really hate. SAVE YOUR MONEY. DONT BUT THIS.

thrift shop find

Pros: Still records my cassette tapes to CD. Cons: Would not play or eject my mp3 disc.
I picked this thing up at a salvation army just yesterday. It actually works! I recorded a CD from a CD and transferred a cassette tape to an audio CD and it worked just fine. The only thing that really sucks about this unit (so far) is that when I insert my mp3 discs they just spin around and I cannot eject them for some reason, so I just don't insert any mp3 CDRs in this machine. Everything else seems to work.
