Pros: Sears quality, low energy usage, quiet operation.
Cons: None yet.
Bought this chest freezer to replace a Magic Chef model that we previously had in our attached garage. Magic Chef is no longer known as a quality name, and our experience reinforces this. The Sears freezer appears to be of a much higher quality, and based on reviews we've seen, it should last us for many, many years. The nice thing about this freezer is the interior lighting; believe me, you want a chest freezer with a built-in interior light, otherwise you're constantly holding a flashlight in one hand whilst digging around the inside of the freezer with the other. Also, this freezer does not have an oil-cooled compressor, meaning it can be used in a location (unheated garage) where temps get very chilly, without fear of the lubrication freezing up and ruining the compressor. Otherwise it's a no-frills model, with very modest yearly energy usage. Just what we wanted. Now we can shop at Costco and buy large quantities of frozen food and have plenty of room to store it.
