Pros: The machine washes dishes in an effective manner
Cons: Having to replace a necessary part within 15 months is unacceptable. Buy the extended warranty.

We purchased the Model 16462 in October 2005 when we decided to replace our 20 year old tired-out dishwasher. The new dishwasher has performed well and in a quiet manner since installation. We are completely happy with its dish cleaning, however after 15 months of operation the Console Assembly, the front top control panel with the lights, no longer reflected the dishwasher's current cycle. Delay lights flashed when we had not set any delay, we were unable to cancel a wash, no light came on during the drying cycle, and generally the lights were useless.

We had the console assembly replaced at a cost of almost one-half of the original purchase price. We probably could have lived with the machine as is, but we chose not to. The inability to cancel a wash or to tell if the dry cycle was working was not acceptable.
