Great vacuum!
by zeahpug ,Jan 02 '06
Pros: Great suction. Great attachments. Cons: Heavy. Small bag needs frequent changing.
I have 5 furry little creatures in my home, so I need a SERIOUS vacuum cleaner! This picks up pet hair very well, as well as other types of dirt and dust. It has very strong suction strength. This vacuum is great, and I've had quite a few, including an Orek.
I'm quite rough on a vacuum and this thing is close to indestructible!

Good for 3 years

Pros: Cleaning ability Cons: Dependability / life expectancy
Great suction. Nice form factor and attachments. Dependability is questionable under normal use (1-2 per week). Fuse blew after 3 years, $5 part is fairly easy to replace. Auto shut-off that saves motor shuts vacuum down intermittently even with new bag and new heap filter. Swivel head has come loose. My mom's 1980 Electrolux is still going strong. My $60 Eureka upright has lasted 10 years. If you want a vacuum that will last you may want to go with a premium brand, I think all Kenmore vacs have the same life expectancy.
