Pros: Great toast, silencing option, looks nice Cons: Too big for my kitchen but may be right for yours.

Great microwave, so-so toaster
by savoyes ,Nov 19 '06
Pros: lots of space in microwave, good quick-use features (eg. add 1-min), looks great Cons: toaster is loud (haven't found a silencing option) and slow, overheats, and stopped working.
We bought this microwave to save space because we needed a toaster and microwave and didn't want the toaster sitting on the counter. The microwave is great -- works fast, cooks evenly, has nice options for lower power, and is really easy to just add a minute (or two or three) but doesn't over-guess about what I want to do. I love the round interior, easier to clean than the square kind, and seems very roomy.
As for the toaster, it's very loud (several people mentioned a silencing option, which we haven't found), seems to overheat after 1-3 runs, toasts unevenly (more on the top, less on the bottom), and takes a very long time. Still, overall it has done the job for us for about 4 months. But, just recently something seemed to "blow" in it (seemed like a crumb caught fire or something) and now the toaster doesn't work at all. I'm hoping it's just a matter of replacing a fuse or heating coil or something, but so far I haven't found any info. So for now, we are stuck with a great microwave with this clunky, useless space hog on the side...

Problem with Toast 'N'Wave
by tonypalloni ,Sep 04 '06
Pros: It is a great unit, and we love it Cons: It stopped working after 8 months
We have had the Kenmore Toast'N'Wave for about 8 months and just absolutely love it. It is so handy having the toaster built right in the microwave. This morning I put in a Bagel and pressed start and the unit just went dead, like someone had pulled the plug. I tried it in a different outlet, but nothing. I was wondering if there is a fuse or breaker or something that could make it easy to fix. Like I stated before, we have had this for only about 8 months, and we don't have any children that would misuse the unit, if you could let me know if there is a fuse or something, it would be greatly appreciated.
