Pros: Efficient when it works.
Cons: Broke down after 3 years.

My mother bought us this dryer after the birth of our second child as she was concerned that our 30 year old dryer would quit during our highest laundry needs years. She bought it March 18, 2003 and it quit working on March 16, 2006. Not only did a 3 year old dryer break down, but when I called Sears 1-800 number to book a technician on a Friday, they said the earliest they could service it was the following Wednesday. My husband decided to try a couple of suggestions on a website, he tried replacing 2 of the easiest parts, that didn't fix the problem. Our electrician neighbor then came over and found the problem, it was the ignition coil. Called Sears back and they said it would take a week to get a new ignition coil for a 3 year old dryer.

When I called Sears to register a complaint, while empathetic, they were not at all helpful.

We went with Sears because we thought they stood behind their products. They don't and I will never buy another Kenmore product.
