Kenwood KR-V5580

Pros: Reasonably price, excellent quality.

I bought this receiver a few years ago and it has performed flawlessly. It was used initially to play CD's and then DVD sound but recently I added to back channel speakers and finally after all this time a good quality center speaker to get the full surround sound from DVD movies. The receiver is very straight forward to hook up and operate. The remote is very easy to understand and is nicely divided up so you can operate different components and sound selections. The surround sound is very nice especially since adding a center speaker although it has a phantom setting to simulate a center speaker which was how I operated it before adding a real center speaker. I am very happy with it. It has served my for a few years and I am sure for many more years to come.

Pros: simple setup and remote functions.
deliver nice highs and lows. lots of power
Cons: honestly can't find any to tell you the truth..
they don't make em like this anymore.
