Pros: powerful, versatile, easy to use and clean Cons: big and bulky, top occasionally recalcitrant
You'd think that a guy like me who's so fond of his chef's knives would turn up his nose at food processors - and, to some extent, I do. But even if one glories in the ring of fine German steel and the sensuous feeling of a sharp edge as it slices ...
Imagine, making coleslaw with a food processor!! For many using the food processor may be the only way youve created this barbecue-season salad, but not me. Ive always done it the old-fashioned, finger-scraping way (thats the extra ...
Pros:Very efficient; quiet; stable; many extras; great warranty; wide selection of colors; good price. Cons:Taller than most machines; storage case difficult to open and stores only 3 discs.
I have always owned the Cuisinart brand food processors because I thought they were the original and therefore had to be the best. When my last Cuisinart, which was a 7-cup model, became too small for me I decided to invest in a larger capacity processor ...
Pros: Looks great in chrome. Large bowl. Good build quality. Cons: Leaks badly. Extremely difficult to clean. Bowls scratch easily.
I've owned my KFP750 for about a year, so I figure I've had enough time with it to have some real perspective. When I was looking to replace my old Cuisinart I thought I'd go high-end; I use my processor all the time, so price was not really a concern ...
Pros: Maybe Ok if you don't want to use it with liquids. Cons: Inept lid design.
Another writer here commented that the design of this food processor is flawed. I agree completely with that assessment and for the same reasons. When I used this machine to make mayonnaise for the first time, I was flabbergasted that the mixture of ...
Pros: Excellent function for chopping, grating, dough and hard jobs. Cons: Poor durability of the bowl and handle are deal breakers.
Although this machine functions well and has a very nice capacity, my bowl has broken twice since I purchased this in 2006. Having the mechanism that starts the motor in the handle of the bowl which I have found flimsy (It really is in need of babying.) ...
Pros: didn't own it long enough to find any Cons: leaks, hard to clean
My old kitchen machine (philips combo 3000 - i loved it...) finally broke after 10 years of frequent use, i tried to replace this machine, but 'they don't make em like that anymore....' so i researched online, and looking in a bunch of stores for a equal ...
Love the processor, hate product support by CUZNVIN ,Mar 26 '05
Pros: Quiet and Powerful Cons: Accessories STILL not available. NO 2mm shredding blade or ANY accessories available.
Comes with 2 slicing and ONE 4 mm Shredding Disk. Nice case for attachments. I bought this to replace my one bowl Cuisinart. I like the idea of the two sized bowls that come with it., but I find it doesnt mix as well as my Cuisinart. I also am miffed that I cant get a 2mm shredding blade. What good is a 4mm shreddder. You cant shred anything fine for things like carrots for carrot cake. At Christmastime I was told accessories would be available shortly. Here we are four moths later and STILL nothing available. Customer service is useless to get a date for accessory availability. I guess Kitchen Aid still isnt up to the professional standards that Cuisinart is.......
Pros: high-powered, can handle any job large bowl capacity small bowl attachment Cons: spindle too short small bowl hard to remove handle allows moisture in
(Be forewarned: this is one HEAVY food processor. You could probably save on gym membership fees by lifting it regularly.)
This is a workhorse of a food processor. It makes quick work of chopping or blending anything I can come up with. Its large bowl capacity and high-powered engine are impressive; I can't imagine a job it couldn't handle. I have used it often for mixing pizza dough (with the plastic mixing attachment) as well as chopping and blending. The small bowl attachment is ideal for smaller jobs.
Several design flaws are frustrating, however. The relatively low spindle height makes leaks through the spindle hole more likely with large batches of liquids (although this has only happened a couple of times). I love the small bowl attachment, but it is very difficult to remove from the large bowl without getting the large bowl dirty. Finally, the handle design somehow allows a small amount of moisture to be trapped inside the plastic when washed in the dishwasher.
Kitchenaid KFP670 problem by lindy1991 ,Feb 17 '08
Pros: Power Cons: Bowl and lid crack easily.
I have experienced unsatisfactory performance with two bowls and covers for this unit in 5 years. Both sets cracked multiple times in same places- obviously a design or quality flaw. Had Cuisinart DLC-7 PRO from the 1980's which was superior in every way. Will replace KA with newer Cuisinart rather than buy another bowl and cover. KA customer service usually good, but they claim they have not had similar complaints on this- very hard to believe.
Spills out the bottom and ruins kitchen and clothing by britcher ,Sep 27 '06
Pros: It doesn't matter. Cons: Design is fundamentally flawed.
Regardless of the Kitchenaid food processor's other qualities, it is worse than useless, as it spills all of the "processed" ingredients out the bottom of the jar when it is removed from the stand. The contents flow lugubriously and unremitting onto the countertop, into the motor, the electrical cord, and onto the floor.
Solid Motor & Stand, Cheap Plastic Bowl Shreds Itself, NO BLADES AVAILABLE by snortn ,Dec 13 '06
Pros: Solid, well built stand and motor Cons: Plastic lid can be shredded.
No Accessories available (December 2006)
I bought a Kitchenaid KFP750 for a friend for Christmas 2005. The body is very heavy and solid, seems high quality. The plastic bowls feel cheap. One big problem- when the bowl is over filled with shredded food, it can push the blade up and shred the plastic lid! Gets plastic shreds in all your food- be careful! There are NO accessory blades available anywhere for this machine- this was a problem in 2005, still a problem now at Christmas 2006. Be aware- blades for older machines will not fit this one. This machine really needs a finer shredding blade than the ones included.
