Pros: Perfect toast, solid construction, repeatable browning including the first cycle. Cons: Large. No automatic bread pop-up(which is the only auto function I would have liked).
There are so many toasters currently on the market, our quest was simple....find a toaster that made great toast. We weren't looking for customized bagel settings, sandwich programs, warming trays or digital control readouts. Bread in, get hot & toast. ...

Pros: Toaster actually browns, not burns and keeps toast warm until ready to eat. Two-Year Warranty. Cons: Expensive!
I purchased a Kitchenaid Proline 4-Slice Toaster when the toast from the old unit started looking the same color when toasted as it did when I put the bread in. Taking the toaster out of the box, I was immediately pressed by how heavy the unit ...

WOW Toaster Best We've owned Yet
by richardquebec ,Oct 31 '06
Pros: Toasts perfectly well. Heavy Duty and looks good. Cons: A little hard to clean slice holder in slice cavity
We've purchased the KitchenAid Pro Line Toaster a few weeks ago and we are totally satisfied with it. It has been a well thought toaster, heavy duty made, toasts perfectly well bread, bagel, English Muffin. What I like is that there is two seperate browning control. One on left and one on right hand side. When toasts are done it doesn't pop up so that toasts are kept warm, till you take them out yourself.

Dissapointing Performance
by hiebert ,Feb 13 '08
Pros: Name brand and robust construction Cons: simply doesn't properly toast whole grain or other heavier breads..
I was initially reluctant to spend major bucks on a toaster but the KitchenAid brand and the robust build won me over. Sad to say I am returning it to the retailer to get my money back. Do NOT buy this machine if you want to toast anything other then white bread..It simply doesn't brown. I find myself resetting the toaster as many as three times to get a good toast on whole grain breads.

Toasted

Pros: Looks Cons: Unreliable, cost of repairs
I purchased one of these toasters and it broke down two months after the warranty ran out. The repairs, from an authorised KitchenAid agent, cost almost as much as the new toaster. The agent also said that the toaster had an inherent design fault. Its performance is also ordinary for the price. At the setting of 10 artisan white breads barely colour (e.g. Italian wood fired loaves).
I wouldn't buy this toaster or anything from KitchenAid again.
