Happy User
by jeffc51 ,Mar 30 '04
Pros: Easy to use, great picture quality, bright colors, easy to transfer pictures to pc
Cons: Lens cap is a seperate piece, some pictures come out blurry (may be my inexperience)

After doing a lot of shopping for cameras I finally made my decision for the Kodak dx4530. For the money and the options you can't find a better camera.

I am not a photographer, or electronics guy so I can't tell you all the specifics, but if you just want a camera that you can take out of the box, and start using to take very nice pictures than this is the one for you.

I bought the camera around Christmas time 03, and got the camera for $299. I got the camera at office max and it came with some software, a 64meg card, rechargable batteries, and a charger. I felt it was a great deal for a 5mp camera. Then when I took the camera out and saw the quality of pictures, I was even happier.

The camera comes with step by step instructions, and is very easy to connect to a PC with a USB cable (included). This camera is a great deal, and I recommend it for anyone. (Only con is the lens cap, but i can deal...why didnt they just make it like the rest and have it be internal?)

The best as finally arrived
by fm6018 ,Jul 03 '04
Pros: CRISP CLEAR PICTURE , Easy to use, fair price
Cons: Sorry, I can’t find any « cons »
The best as finally arrived

I bough this Kodak digital camera over a month ago, and yet, it is the best digital camera that I had so far (it’s my 3rd one).

Easy to use, the entire features you need, CRISP CLEAR PICTURE and all that at a fair price! what else more do you want?

Some people will always complain …. To a certain point I’m one of them ! , but with this camera I am just extremely satisfied.

Regards,

from : Hudson,Q.C., Canada

Very Dissatisfied
by jmcahren ,Jan 16 '05
Pros: Very nice case design, simple menus, excellent dock (optional I think).
Cons: Pictures are unusable.
We bought this camera to replace our five year old Kodak DC215 1 megapixel digital camera (which we were very happy with). Almost all of the pictures that we take with this camera turn out blurry and fuzzy. The sharpness is horrible, and the lighting and color are bad. I am not exaggerating, the best photos that this camera has taken are still bad. We have tried the different modes, indoors and outdoors. Now we are stuck with it because of the Wal-Mart 15 day return window for electronics. I don't understand how the other reviewers have rated this camera so high, because the pictures are clearly bad. Either something is wrong with our camera, or people don't have anything to compare to this camera. My wife has abandoned digital photography for film, so I guess I'm on the market for a new camera.

Fantastic Camera !!!
by lilsdad ,Mar 02 '05
Pros: Price, quality pictures
Cons: Size, lens cap(not that big of a deal)
I have been using this camera for about one year now. It's hard to take a bad picture. I just don't understand some of bad reviews. It must be they have defective cameras. My only complaints might be a weak flash, but hey, all these small cameras have a weak flash. The camera size is a little bigger than some of the other ones with comparable features.
I have 3 digital cameras so I can compare one to the other. I have a hard time telling the difference in picture quality between this Kodak and my $900 Minolta Dimage A-2!!

BEST DIGITAL CAMERA!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND
by uscsportsgal ,Feb 04 '05
Pros: It is easy! Great price for a 5 megapixel camera.
Cons: I have not found any cons with this product.
This Kodak camera is the first digital camera I have purchased. In all honesty, at first I was skeptical; since I usually purchase Sony products, and therefore believed that Sony had superior electronics. I also mistakenly believed that higher priced products equated to better products. However, since I had never used a digital camera before, I was told that the Kodak EasyShare camera would be my best bet. That fact could not be more accurate. Everything from the software installation, to the explanations of how to connect the equipment to the dock/computer, to the easy understanding of the options on the camera make this particular camera a pleasure to own. I love how at the press of one button, your pictures are transferred from your camera to an album on your computer. This makes emailing your photos to friends and family so easy. Everything about this camera is easy, and thus, the name EasyShare could not be more appropriate. I absolutely love this camera, and highly recommend this product to everyone.

Great Camera for the Bucks!
by blusafyre ,Jul 14 '04
Pros: 5 mp, good battery life, multiple picture quality setting
Cons: loose camera lens cap, light at view finder
I thoroughly enjoy using this camera. 5mp delivers amazing quality photos, and the price is definitely right! I was surprised at the price of this camera when other 5mp cameras went for several hundreds more, but after doing my homework, I went with this one, and have absolutely no regrets.

Pros:
- 5 mega pixels delivers great, crisp, and clear looking pictures
- settings that allows you to set the quality you want in pictures, be warned though, at the 3 star setting, pictures are quite large when downloaded onto your computer. You'll want to size them down before emailing them.
- not a battery hog at all!

Cons:
- The camera lens cap isn't very secure. It pops off every time I pull the camera out of my camera pouch.
- the "on" light is next to the view finder which makes it very distracting to your eyes if you use the view finder instead of the screen to take pictures

camera's great
by bootsiecat ,Feb 24 '05
Pros: Very easy to use takes great pictures.
Cons: I agree lens cap could be better.
I've had this camera for almost a year and I love it. I had a 1 pixel kodak it did ok but I wanted to upgrade and this camera was a good buy and takes great pictures. I've not had one blurry picture or bad color I have printed from my printer and from a kodak printer at a store no differents in quality of prints they were all great. And I have a dock with mine and you can use rechageable batteries with this camera. If you are a pro. at picture taking it may not have all the features you need but for the everyday person it will do a good job. So I don't understand why people are having a bad time with this camera.

The best digital Camera for its price
by nic42991 ,Jan 31 '05
Pros: Battery Type, 5MP, cheap, 32MB inertial memory, easy to use, movie mode, SD memory and_much_more!!
Cons: Uses up batteries like an airplane, lens cap always falls off
This Camera is one you should buy unless you are a pro photographer. There are better cameras than this one but if you include the price this is the best one. Some of the negatives are that Battery life isn't that good and lens cap falls off. The picture resolution is one of the best parts. Another great aspect is that the camera takes AA Batteries. There are also many different modes to the camera. If you are looking to buy a digital camera this is definitely one that should be on your list.

Good value for money
by pravinkn ,Dec 06 '04
Pros: 5MB from a reputed brand at an affordable price
Cons: Dark background photos.
I purchased this camera from Walmart over 6 months ago at the price of $299.It came bundled with Camera dock.
Like all Electronics product, if you wait long enough, the price keeps on dropping. On thanksgiving day ,the price of camera dropped almost a $100 and it is available at Walmart for $198 + tax.

Feature wise ,it is a very good camera, with 32Mb internal memory and various types of picture options like closeups, moving, landscape etc..

Also comes with Kodak Easy share photo software.

Has option for pencil (AA) and lithium battery type.
Drawbacks that i found are :
Size is similar to other normal cameras ;it could have been more compact.
Photos come a little dark background if flash is not turned on.

I Love my digital Camera!
by atheistmommy ,Oct 12 '05
Pros: Big pictures Quality pictures Good price Easy to use
Cons: Batteries have to be from kodak
I got my camera about two years ago. I've managed to drop it a few times since then. My battery lasted a good year before I had to buy another. I've yet to buy more memory. The pictures come out big.

My advice, if you buy this camera also buy the bag with the extra charger and batteries. It's worth it.

I realized after my batter went that I couldn't use just any batteries I had to buy the Kodak battery. Plus I lost my charger which is only sold in the bag and batteries package retailing for 39$ at every store.

Kodak DX4530--Great camera with low price
by keithkennedy ,Feb 19 '04
Pros: Small and lightweight, 3x optical and 3x digital zoom, lowest price 5 mpix camera around.
Cons: The only con is the lens cap. Doesn't fit right and comes off easily
With a 5.0 Mpixel resolution and the lowest price I have seen on a digital camera with the same features, the Kodak DX4530 is hands down the best Digital Camera I have owned (and I have had 3) It is small and lightweight but produces excellent picture prints. It has an internal memory of 32mb and you can purchase additional SD cards with as much as 512mb. Easy set up....I was taking pictures within 15 minutes of opening the box. One of the few Digital Cameras I have seen with a date/time stamp that can be turned on or off.

You get what you pay for
by drivr1 ,Mar 29 '04
Pros: price, size, shape ease of use.
Cons: low light usage, recovery speed.
This camera is a decent unit for a low priced 5 megapixel camera. It takes really nice outdoor pictures but in low light settings I reach for my 2.0 megapixel Fuji. I have used this camera for an impromptu portrait setting with the machine on a tripod and using floods and the images were better than I expected. The battery life is decent and the screen is nice and bright. So to summarize this is a decent 5 megapixel camera but definitely not a high end unit. I rated it 4 star because of the price and if you take the time you can get some real nice results with this camera.

Kodak DX4530 Great but NOT AMERICAN MADE.
by jillybeanus ,Mar 03 '04
Pros: Quality, cost basis, ease of use, long battery life ConsumerReports favor
Cons: LED next to viewfinder and this is NOT AMERICAN MADE.
Here in the Greater NYC Area , actually in the Garden State.
A saying is try it you'll like. Well BUY it you'll love it.

Wishing this was MADE in the USA though. Shopping for the right price was an obstacle but finding a good deal was best. This handheld machine is wonderful so far.

The cost basis may move down once more are sold thus production moves up. But I still wish it was AMERICAN MADE.

Reading the other e-reviews here is great and you shall learn a lot as I saw these ePinions prior to the purchases made.

At time of purchase I do suggest getting your memory cards SD and such that way you will bargain more and have things included.

This works well is low priced in comparison what you have too.

I think in the next one, maybe DX4531,it will not have that LED next to the viewfinder..

This in my Eopinion is great .
