Best Digital Camera on the Market
by rinabeard ,Sep 16 '04
Pros: Sleek body Design, Simple Operation, Professional Quality digital photos.
Cons: Have not found any yet
This camera is not only simple and easy to use but captures quality photos, when attached with the Kodak printer dock, printed picture quality is outstanding. Tons of people ask me where I get my pictures developed and have a hard time believing I printed them right at home. This Kodak 5.0 MP camera has easy to follow and simplistic operating instructions. Making this camera a breeze and certainly a pleasure to use. I highly recommend this camera to the serious photo junkie.

I LOVE it!
by charleyc1 ,Jan 01 '05
Pros: Easy to use, superb pictures, convenient prints from home.
Cons: Night mode must be perfectly still
I got this for my birthday after having a 2.0 Mega Pixel for over a year. The pictures are fabulous! I took pictures of my kids one Sunday evening, uploaded the one I liked to the Ofoto website, picked out a Christmas card and had 40 cards in my mailbox Tuesday morning. The quality was awesome! I also had about 25 prints in my camera that I uploaded to the Ofoto site of various shots and had them sent to my home. Unbelievable! Easy, great pictures and all from the convenience of my home! The only drawback I have found is when shooting using the night mode, a slight movement will make your pictures blurry, so you really need to put it on a tripod to shoot in that mode. Great camera, easy to use!

Very HAPPY
by lbjade ,Oct 06 '04
Pros: Ease of Use
Cons: None
I purchased this camera about three months ago and took on family vacation. It was very simple to use and even easier to download pics. The pics are crystal clear and the options to choose how to take your pics, standard, landscape, objects in motion, night, etc. is very simple. I like the product and hope to get continued enjoyment out of it.

Support is weak after warranty expires
by cak913 ,Jan 26 '05
Pros: nice camera when worked
Cons: customer support does not work for you if warranty is expired
Had camera 14 months. warranty expired after 1 year(November 2004). Problems with camera started 12 months 3 weeks after purchase. problems included taking the picture and storage/download of pics. If available--get a replacement or an extended warranty on this as their service offers choice of repair $160-$260 or trade for a refurbished camera with less megapixels and $250 to boot. Basically you give Kodak your camera and they sell you an over priced refurbished camera with less options. then they fix your camera and resell as refurbished. good deal for them.

Response to quakeguy's review
by ldberms ,Dec 25 '03
Pros: Thus far, very good camera, features and picture quality for the price. Less than $300.
Cons: Flimsy compartment door for storage of external flash card.
In response to quakeguy's remarks about Steve's Digicams not having a review on the Kodak DX4530 Digital Camera, please read the following which is quoted directly from Steve's review that was posted on 11/17/2003. Follow this link for a complete review: http://www.steves-digicams.com/2003_reviews/dx4530_pg2.html . For the most part the review contradicts some of what quakeguy says. You may also want to check out the www.dpreview.com site for additional reviews/responses.

"As of the writing of this conclusion (Nov 2003), the Kodak DX4530 is the lowest cost 5- megapixel digital camera available with a zoom lens. It proves that the old saying 'you only get what you pay for' may not always be true. The DX4530 is an entry-level yet high resolution camera with a quality 3x optical zoom lens. This is a perfect camera for anyone that wants to easily capture sharp and well saturated pictures, indoors or out, with little or no prior experience. And with an average street price of $350 or less you won't need a bank loan to purchase one."

Great, user-friendly camera
by krispietreats ,Apr 13 '04
Pros: Easy to carry, great picture quality, ease of use
Cons: none really, other than the lens cap
I bought this camera after many weeks of reading up on digital cameras and racking my brain sifting through reviews. We have three little boys and owning a regular camera was becoming too expensive with buying and developing film. Not to mention the fact that 1/2 the pictures that were developed ended up being tossed due to heads being cut off, etc...
I have to say I am loving this camera! The picture quality is great and I'm enjoying the fact that I can view the pictures I take, and delete them easily if I choose not to keep them. The battery life is good, and I like that I have 32MB internal memory. I've had one red-eye picture since buying and using this camera but I was able to easily fix it with the included software. The LCD screen is a little difficult to see on really sunny days, and the lens cap does seem to pop off on its own every now and then (which is why I attached it to the camera like you're supposed to), but for the price, quality of pictures, and the ease of use... I have to give this two thumbs up.

Disappointed
by happy-chops ,Oct 01 '04
Pros: Internal memory, good Video Mode
Cons: Poor flash, LONG relaod time, poor flash, not enough manual controls, short battery life.
My husband and I did months of research before purchasing this digital camera. We checked out consumer reports, epinions and other independant sources. I felt quite confident in our choice and I was....disappointed.

The good things about the camera were the internal memory, the video mode and the display screen. The disappointments were the amazingly long time it took the camera to reload between shots, the teeny-tiny battery life and my flash pictures were either overexposed or too dark. I found it quite a bother to enter a menu screen in order to set the auto-timer. I was initially impressed by the amount of megapixels in this camera's description, but found the pictures to be less than photo quality as soon as I tried to zoom or crop them at all.

I am very disappointed with this camera and wish I hadn't bought it.
