BEWARE OF THIS CAMERA !!!
by jerseychicmom ,Mar 12 '05
Pros: This is a nice "Looking" camera - Cons: HORRIBLE CRAFTSMANSHIP - CHOOSE ANOTHER BRAND !!!!
I WORK AT BEST BUY - KODAK CAMERAS - ALL THE 6400 - 7500 SERIES ALL COME BACK - I see at least 5 a day. There is a little plastic clip that cracks off of the battery compartment. No model is exluded. One day at work I witnessed 5 Kodak Digital Camera all come in for the same thing !!! (one of these models, two 7440's, two 7460's and one 7580) Don't fall for this. This is a nice "Looking" camera - BUT there are many more to choose from. Just to let you know. Some of the people had Best Buy "extended" service plans on their camera and were told this was "physical damage" and Best Buy would not honor repair.

Really enjoy my camera
by blue_jean ,Jul 09 '05
Pros: Easy to use, not too large, great pictures. Cons: Cheap, breakable lens cover
Easy to use, not too large, great pictures. Overall, I'm very pleased, and I find reasons to constantly use the camera. However, I don't like the lens cover. It is cheap, breaks easily and is expensive to replace.

Great Optical Zoom Camera
by r2bob ,Oct 30 '05
Pros: Outstanding optical zoom and outstanding lens quality. Excellent software. Cons: Somewhat complex for first time users. Focus function on automatic can be difficult.
As a semi-professional user of SLRs and medium format cameras, this camera comes as close to a SLR as a point and shoot camera can come. Outstanding Schneider lens. Excellent manual control flexibility as well as automatic functions. Kodak software is excellent and easy to use. Print service from Kodak is excellent. To fully utilize and understand all the functions the user needs to have some experience using film cameras, but the automatic functions will do well lacking that background. As with all digital cameras I would recommend using the optical zoom function over the camera's digital zoom. Only negative is a difficult to use focus system particularly for close up photography. Editing should be done on a good computer. I highly recommend this camera.

Great Camera, Great Pictures
by missourigirl81 ,Aug 02 '05
Pros: Great camera for those looking for a more high-end camera without the cost. Cons: Small on/off button, no zoom in video mode.
Couldn't ask for a better camera. Takes great pictures that look good when printed. Video is really good, just can't zoom in. I've used mine for family portraits, snapshots, and video and haven't had any problems.

I'm Lovin' It
by tw0812 ,Mar 17 '05
Pros: Pictures and Video are awesome. So User Friendly! Cons: Can't figure out burstmode-- pics are blurry. Can't set up Address Book for email.
We've only had this camera for 2 days but it I'm already "in" love with it! The pictures I have taken are incredible. I printed two with my HP Photosmart printer and they were amazing. Color and Clearness were exceptional. The images are so clear. All of the features are so user-friendly. I have always been a point and shoot kinda gal and this camera gives me lots of options to turn my freshman like attitude into a novice.
The software that comes with the camera is fantastic. No manual needed. It is very self-explanatory. Overall I would give this camera a 10. I am so happy. I think my scrapbooking will greatly improve because I have so much control over my photos. Way to go Kodak! We are for sure sold and will tell everyone I know how great the camera is.

Great Camera
by rockhopperlady ,Jan 06 '05
Pros: Clear, crisp images. Cons: Small power button. Can't zoom in and out when using video feature.
I LOVE this camera. I agree with the others, the power button is a little awkward. My only other complaint would be that you can't zoom in and out when using the video feature. But the quality of the photos is unbelievable. You get clear and crisp images.

Out of the 5 digis I've had this is by far the best!
by smcgillivray ,Feb 16 '06
Pros: shutter control, aperture control, flash intensity, slave flash capability. Cons: the adapter for extra lenses must be bought through kodak.com
I bought this from Wal-Mart about 1 year ago now and it is the best digital camera that I have ever had. I love that it has all the features that a decent professional camera would have. The only thing that I didn't like about it was that it had a pc sync cord and not a hot shoe for the slave flash but hey that works too. If you are looking for a camera that you can take anywhere at anytime and is lightweight this is not what you are looking for. But if you are looking for something that takes impeccable pictures that can be sold in gallery, like I have. Then this is the way to go especially for the price. I absolutely love it!

GREAT Camera!
by debrinka ,Dec 24 '04
Pros: Compact size, great pic's, and ease of use. Cons: Tiny on/off button, no wrist strap. Otherwise, an awesome camera.
I've had this camera for three months now and I love it. It's easy to hold onto (I have fumbley hands), the LCD screen is easy to see (I'm supposed to wear my glasses, and don't), the zoom lens gets in close to the subject (again, the glasses thing) and the pictures turn out clean and crisp. I do wish it had come with a wrist strap, however ... made my own. I doubt I'll need to replace this camera for quite some time. Good job, Kodak.

Exactly What I have been waiting for!
by sharic ,Sep 30 '04
Pros: Zoom
Feel of camera
Large LCD Cons: White balance controls, and on/off switch is a bit small.
This is my third digital camera, all Kodak. I had a DC210, then a DX 4330, I was getting ready to purchase 6490 and had read this was coming out. What a great camera! The LCD is huge and allows my eyes to see the picture clearly. The controls and easy to use and make sense. I love just about everything about this camera!!!
The only few things is that I wish I could adjust white balance in all settings and the silliest thing is the on/off switch, small and in an odd spot. I keep hitting the Icon button instead! Otherwise the wisest investment I have made in a long time! Love the zoom, can't wait to take it to my son's football game!

One of the Best Out Today
by gwtx2 ,Oct 05 '04
Pros: 10X Zoom, Multiple resolutions and compression settings, true to color exposures, easy menu system Cons: None
I've owned a few digital cameras, Olympus, Nikon, but this is my first Kodak brand. I must say I am absolutely delighted with the performance thus far. Some of my pictures have been almost life-like when viewed on my PC monitor. It's fast, easy to use for the beginner, and enough features for the advanced user. If you are film camera user looking for your first digital or a digital user looking to upgrade, then look no further. This camera should receive top considerations during your search.

Out of Focus
by tdhansmann ,Nov 09 '05
Pros: Easy to use. Cons: Focus will ruin pictures.
I originally loved this camera for it's easy to use features, but soon found that no matter what I did moving objects would not focus more than 25% of the time. I have used cameras all of my life and never had a problem focusing a picture. Even if I am absolutely still and have the camera set to "Action" taking a picture of adults standing still it still does not focus 75% of the time. I have had this camera for 10 months and the focusing on the camera is getting worse and worse. I plan on returning the camera and getting one with image stabilization.

Best Camera EVER!
by vinmom1 ,Dec 21 '04
Pros: ease of use, wonderfully clear pictures, easy share feature is the greatest! Cons: None that I have found yet
I got this camera as an early Christmas present. I have already taken many pictures of my children and our tree with the presents under it, oh and an awesome night time picture of our house with the lights on. This camera is the best digital camera I have owned yet! The software is great and the dock that it comes with is awesome, no more hooking the camera up to the computer to download the pics...just set the camera on the dock and press a button! You can't go wrong with this camera, it is great for a beginner or an advanced user.

Awesome
by leon59 ,Nov 26 '04
Pros: Great zoom and macro shots. Beautiful rich photos. Great software. Cons: No image stabilizer.
This camera is as easy to use as just point and shoot and will deliver great photos. It has a lot of modes programed in and are easy to select. It also gives you the capability to use manual controls with the exception of focus. The software is the best I have seen. I almost passed on this camera because of some issues raised by some of the expert reviews I had read and I am sure glad I did not. This is a real winner. The only con I see with this camera is the lack of an image stabilizer, so it is important to be steady when you snap the shutter. Way to go Kodak.

Could not be happier
by gator2 ,Oct 25 '04
Pros: Picture quality is excellent. The zoom is awesome. Very adaptable camera. Cons: The on/off switch could be larger or placed differently. Only complaint so far.
This camera has an excellent feel to it, unlike most of the smaller digitals. Controls are easy to utilize. The LCD screen is super, as is the EVF control to adjust for your vision. After months of weighing the pros and cons of the many brands on the market, I feel I have made a terrific choice.

Sweeeet!!
by beejar1 ,Nov 23 '04
Pros: Camera Footprint,Screen size, Scene selection and the thumb wheel to switch between functions. Cons: Stronger Flash and automated release for popup flash
I bought this camera as an upgrade from an existing 3mp Kodak. Did quite a bit of homework and all of it was worth it. The camera has all the bells and whistles you'd expect and then there's the 10x optical zoom, just awesome!
Picture Quality:
Great quality, although at times the fast picture may come out blurry, however the preview (with 8x zoom on the 2.1in screen) will assist in preventing you taking a bad shot.
Features:
Some features I liked about the camera:
Scene Mode, pre-programed scene modes are great for taking speciality pictures. I used the fireworks scene and got some great time lapsed shots of my daughter playing with a sparkler.
Overall I'd recommend this camera to both beginners and intermediate users as it is very easy to use and yet has the (limited) manual controls.
