Pros: Professional quality prints, vivid and real color reproduction. Cons: Media (paper and ink) is proprietary and somewhat expensive.
Digital Photography today is ubiquitous - most people who take photos for fun or even for business have a digital camera. Most of those people even have an inkjet printer with a few sheets of glossy photo paper nearby. However, most people tend to either ...

Great Photo Printer (The Real Deal)
by gozor ,Dec 18 '06
Pros: Great photos, very portable, protective coating Cons: None yet (in over 2 years)
First of all, I'd classify this as a "real photo printer" because of its process (dye sublimation). It does an incredible job of printing and adds a protective coating that makes the print impervious to most everything except physical damage. But that's the Easyshare printers in general I guess. Anyway, I got this printer dock to use with my Kodak DX... camera and I must say that I love the combination. I've used it with the camera and with the computer and get great pictures either way.
Print quality: Excellent
Portability: Great, but still requires AC power.
Use: very easy to use.
After sitting for about 1.5 years with an ink cartridge (for lack of a better term for the DS pack) I just printed out more pictures from the computer and they look great. Print heads from other types of printers DO NOT typically do this.

A Fun New Play Toy
by teazer-1 ,Jul 09 '05
Pros: It is a fascinating piece of equipment and very easy to use. Cons: I hate that I didn't buy it sooner.
I really enjoy using this printer. It compact enough to fit right in my camera bag and I will pack it along with my Easy-Share Camera when I go visit my 4 1/2 year old grandson. It is great to be able to take pictures of him and then we have a lot of fun watching this printer work. It really is fascinating for my grandson to watch the picture as it goes through the whole process of printing. He thinks it is "Magic" and looks forward to my visits so we can have this fun time together. I know that I could send these pictures anywhere to be printed and it would be much cheaper, but that would take all the fun out of it for us. In fact, his other grandmother owns her own studio and she sends me lots of professional pictures she takes of our grandson but I use the printer dock for the enjoyment I get from seeing my grandson's excitement when we are "Playing" with it together. It's worth every penny I spend on supplies and compared to other ways of entertainment, it's pretty cheap in my opinion.

Kodak easyshare 6000 printer dock ink and paper
by jlgarey ,Dec 31 '08
Pros: Printing at home is convenient and fun, nice to do for family and friends too. Cons: Annoying to be forced to purchase paper with ink. Breakdowns with the machine.
I love being able to print photos at home. But there are two drawbacks with this printer dock. First of all, I can't buy ink without having to also buy the paper. I didn't realize this at first, and bought tons of paper. Now when I need ink, I'm stuck with MORE paper. Number two is most annoying, when the dock signals there is a paper jam, but I cannot find one, I have to unplug the dock and wait, sometimes 4-5 times before it will print again. Same with the signal for the ink, the ink is fine, however, I must unplug and fool around with the door to the ink until it will print again. It's time consuming and frustrating when it happens. When it doesn't happen, I enjoy being able to make the photos for other people and myself. I use the Kodak Easyshare site and sometimes when it doesn't print the first time, I mistakenly press print again. Eventually I end up rebooting the computer and then it prints more than I need. I'm sure it's all my fault, but it's frustrating.

Surprisingly good print quality
by jeffin7 ,Dec 04 '03
Pros: True Photo quality.
Unbelievable easy to use (near idiot-proof)
Cons: Prints a little slow (But all Dye Sublimations do)
Limited print area
Expensive consumables
I paid $199 for the printer and expected it would give decent but grainy prints. I was very surprised that the first print I did came out looking like a real photo. There was no grainyness and the picture was clear and bright. I used this with the Kodak 3.1 MegaPixel EasyShare camera. Its not often that a product I purchase actually surpasses my expectations but this one did.
