Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z10 Digital Camera: plenty of features, great for casual snapshots

by telynor Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Dec 27 '04
Pros: Ergonomic design, lens cap for the lens, several zoom settings plus macro.
Cons: That lens cap will disappear if not attached. Sensitive to dust, dirt, water or sand.
Photography has always been a hobby of mine, and as an artist, it's a terrific tool for capturing a moment when you cannot haul along drawing or painting supplies. So I was rather surprised when I recieved one of these from a 'secret Santa.' I had used ...

Form, Function and price converge for an incredible deal!

by old_mac , Dec 09 '04
Pros: price, quality, power, a great camera for the beginner or power user
Cons: separate lens cap, no flash sync
Let me state that I am a Canon man. Have used them for over 30 years with great success. Why then would I buy the Dimage Z10?. I wanted a 'real' camera not an aluminum matchbox with a lens stuck on it. Small may be beautiful to some, but I don't like ...

Pros: user friendly, zoom, grip ensures a steady hand, long battery life, auto shut off
Cons: lens cover not attached, no sound on video
I love to take pictures. I have gone through at least 20 different cameras in my life, but by no means am I a pro, an I can't even say I know a thing or two about a camera. Especially a digital one. I was in the market for a digital camera after a ...

Perfect remote for our needs

by tsedens , Sep 28 '07
Pros: Quick set-up, perfect accuracy of set-up and remote, ease of use, coolness factor
Cons: retail price
We were looking for an all in one remote, but had had it with the cheap ones that seem to create more frustration than simplification. We were interested in the Harmony Series from Logitech, however with everything other than the 1000, you're still ...

Best camera for the money

by longwoods , Dec 29 '04
Pros: sealed lens, very fast focus, tiny shutter lag, awesome photos, powerful flash, few artifacts
Cons: lens cap, open SD card slot, low light focus, some fringing
I bought the Dimage Z10 in early December when the prices took a pre-Christmas dip. I have never used a Minolta but a newspaper I used to work for would not buy anything else. I am impressed by the design and find it very easy to use. The body is ...

Pros: quick start up , excellent 8x zoom, excellent picture quality.
Cons: None
After watching the features grow and the prices come down I thought it was time to get a new camera, I did hours of research on what camera offered the most for a reasonable price, I own a Minolta Maxxum 5000i , that has worked flawlessly for over 10 ...

Pros: Easy to learn and use; light; flexible; very clear and crisp pictures.
Cons: Watch the fingers until you get used to the camera!

Decent but not exciting

by sammy4321 , Jan 05 '05
Pros: optical zoom, low price
Cons: cheap body plastic and control buttons, purplish tinge to pictures, open SD card slot.
I bought this thing from MicroCenter. The main reason I bought this was because I already had 2-3 SD memory cards and wanted to buy a camera which uses SD MMC cards. Only Kodaks, Pentax, Nikon and Konica uses SD cards. So I decided to go for this for ...

Pentax Optio Z10

by jshabs , Jan 17 '08
Pros: 7x optical zoom, many shooting modes, neat sliding plate lens cover, flash has good range
Cons: short battery life, cheapo digital image stabilization, Only shoots good pictures at lowest ISO
I bought this camera because of the 7x optical zoom, it's compactness, style, and it's high mega pixles (8). I also felt Pentax was a trusted brand. Right off the bat I was disappointed with the battery life. After fully charging it, it died on me ...

My First Digital

by elderone56 , Sep 26 '05
Pros: Great first digital camera for any one new to the field of digital. Inexpensive.
Cons: Does need card cover, an attached lens hood be nice and sound also.
My very first camera was a Canon QL 2.5 nearly 40 years ago. Wore it out in Viet Nam and Europe. Looked and researched two other cameras besides the Z10. This by far has the bang for the Buck. Took 400 pictures in one weekend in Canada. Video worked fine ...

Excellent Mid-Range Ultra-Zoom Digital Camera
by bigdood ,Apr 10 '05
Pros: Long battery life, simple controls, SUPER zoom capabilities, great macro capabilities
Cons: shutter lag on some flash shots, redeye-flash feature has too long a delay.
With an 8X optical / 4X digital zoom (32X total) this ultra-zoom digital camera packs the best bang-for-the-buck in this price range. Excellent quality photos, ergonomic design and simple controls, and through-the-lens viewing (similar to a 35mm camera) using a small CCD similar to that used on a video-camera.

I have been shooting pictures for over 30 years, and this camera has already become one of my favorites. LONG battery life is also a big plus. One extra set of AAs and a 256MB memory chip are the only two accessories you will need.

I am very impressed... and Konica-Minolta is a class-act company with great support. I'm a very happy camper.
