I agree completely with milk_inc76. I've been wanting a portable DVD player. When I saw this one, the price was right so I decided to give it a try. I must say, I was not disappointed. This unit has as many or more features than larger players. It plays VCDs, MP3 and will display JPEG files, in addition to playing DVDs. It also has some nifty features like zoom that will zoom from 1.5x to 3x, allowing to you to select the area to zoom by scrolling up, down, left and right. It provides s-video, composite and component video output + optical video out. The included remote works well.

Pros: Very portable, easy to use, good manual
Cons: Stopped working after a short time

I bought one about 6 months ago. It didn't work out of the box so I returned it. I played about 5 discs in it and it stopped loading. I don't think it's worth the effort to try to get it fixed.

Pros: Compactness make it a nice concept.
Cons: Very poor investment of one's money.

It worked pretty good until soon after warranty expires and now it won't load DVD's well. When it does load up a DVD it plays like a poorly aligned VCR tape and not like a DVD player. Avoid this one.

This unit has many excellent features. It just doesn't hold up long. After playing a CD for about an hour, it started to stall for a couple of seconds then start up again. This has been the norm how. After calling Koss Customer Service, they reminded that the warrenty was only 90 days for this unit. If I could find my receipt and it was within this time frame I could get a replacement unit free. Well guess what, I couldn't find my receipt and for that matter I had purchased the unit about 5 months ago, and had just got around to unboxing and installing the unit. Just my bad luck I guess. Have done some research on the internet, seems like this is a problem with this unit. It overheats and cuts out. Therefore, DON'T BUY THIS UNIT. Maybe Koss will discontinue this unit, and come out with a unit that is designed correctly.

I was very skeptical when it came to this Koss Portable DVD Player, because I was not firmiliar with Koss as being a a manufacturer for such units. I did try a Lasonic Portable DVD Player before I got this Koss and I must say that the Lasonic was simply TERRIBLE. It was slow when starting Movies, did not play Mp3s and most of all it was making circular marks on my CDs/DVDs!!!

However, this Koss player was simply outstanding. It works very well. It changes tracks very fast, starts up fast and plays Mp3 discs. Most of all, it look cool and is very small and light. It can even be used in the car and it's does not skip unless you drive over a pavement or a very big pot hole!!

The picture quality is very good exactly what you would expect from a DVD. Oh, it also plays VCDs and DVD-Rs too. It comes with a nice remote which makes it easy to access all the features.

All I can say is this DVD Player is well worth every dollar. Get it while it's cheap!

I have had the KOSS DVD PLAYER for several months. I bought it because it was very portable and I have a need to use it in several different places. It has worked very nicely in the capacity that I purchased it for. I have had no problems with the unit. It plays all of the formats that are available at this time and the quality of the picture and sound is more than acceptable. The only negative thing about the unit is the plastic case. It feels a bit flimsy. I would recommend it without hesitation if it were going to be used for light duty usage. If your intent is to use it as a regular use component, I would consider something a little more heavy duty.
