Pros: Features galore! Nice-tasting coffee Cons: Some small quirks
Krups must have thought of everything when they came up with this easy-to-use coffeemaker! They've done everything to make your coffee brewing easy and convenient. To simply brew a pot of coffee: load the basket, fill the machine with water and press ...
Pros: Nice basket design. Good temperature regulation. Fairly quiet, shuts off when empty. Cons: CHEAP FINISH COMES OFF WARMING PLATE IN MERE DAYS. POOR QUALITY CONTROL.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: We use our coffeemaker about 4 times a day during the week, and more often on weekends, and we are fussy about our coffee, and especially our coffeemaker. We went through two Brauns over the course of five or six years, and although we ...
Pros: Sleek design, keeps the coffee quite hot. Cons: Bad water level indicator.
When my husband-to-be and I were registering for wedding gifts, one of the most important items was the coffee maker. We had been happy with our Braun for many years, but it was time for a replacement. Since we use Brita water from a pitcher to fill our ...
Pros: The automatic timer is a job saver! Cons: I think the ground coffee may get a little stale overnight before brewing.
If you are one of the guys in a hurry in the morning like I am - the Krups FME4 12 cup coffee maker is the one product you will want!I used to spend time and money at the coffee shop just after arriving at work for the wake-up coffee. That ...
Pros: Nice features, brews well. Cons: Thin glass carafe. Substandard coating on the warming plate.
Several years ago I owned a Krups Crystal Arome Plus 466 10 Cup Coffee Maker. I absolutely loved that coffee maker! However I gave it to my mom when my husband won a DeLonghi Flavor Savor 12 Cup (big mistake, a review for another time.) When the ...
Pros: Great design. When used correctly, this machine can make a great cup of coffee. Cons: Water level indicator on side of machine prone to water bubbles, making it useless
My wife and I had a Krups Pro Aroma machine for years and thought it was great. So we liked the design of this new model and thought Krups was reliable. They are not. We bought a machine and for the first few days we were very impressed with the ...
Pros: appearance, digital screen, features Cons: Bubbles in water guide, door swings open during brewing, coffee overflows filters etc etc etc
I liked many feature of the Krups FME4: the water guide on the outside, digital screen, automatic turn off, large opening for pouring water - separate from coffee grounds, and the appearance. BUT, first we could not get rid of the chemical smell and ...
Pros: Simple and easy to use Cons: Must handwash carafe, removing top of carafe breaks pin holding top onto carafe.
One of the plastic pins that hold the top to the carafe breaks off after about 3 uses. I called Krups as the machine had a 1 year warranty. I was told that I was not supposed to remove the lid from the karafe (no mention of this "feature" in ...
Pros: coffee is good Cons: expensive, water level, cheap finish, the anoying beep.
I had krups coffee makers before and i liked thef, the coffee is always good even after a few years of use. When my old one broke i decided to buy another krups. But this one is not my favorite model. The worst problem is the water level indicator, it ends up with bubbles in it and you cant put the right amount of water. You have to turn the machine upside down and shake it, to get rid of them. And i cant deactivate the beep that tells you its been on for two hours. Try another model than this one.

Pros: Makes a great cup of coffee. Cons: Carafe needs some work.
I have owned a number of Krups coffee makers throughout my life. I even gave them as gifts. When it was time to buy a new coffee maker, I naturally turned to Krups and this particular model.
As far as making coffee, the machine works fine. It is the design of the carafe that we did not like. It is very prone to dribbling while pouring a cup of coffee. This is so bad that I had gotten into the habit of pouring my cup of coffee over my sink. This is not a good sign.
Lastly, I broke the machine by moving it from one area of my counter to another area. I don't know what happened, but all I know is now, when it is plugged in, it is stuck in the "on" position. I am replacing this machine today.
Pros: Oh, I forgot to mention that it looks good. Cons: Bubbles in the glass, hard to fill, but more importantly, it makes inferior coffee.
I could reiterate all of the comments of others about bubbles in the glass, thin carafe, poor finish on the heating plate, and I could add that it's hard to fill, but more importantly, it makes inferior coffee. My previous coffee maker, a Braun (unfortunately discontinued) was the same price, superior in every way and lasted years before giving up the coffee-maker ghost. I discussed this Krups with a colleague who said she wished I had asked her before buying this machine because she bought one of these and promptly threw it in the trash. That's where this one is going!
Pros: good coffee Cons: carafe extremely thin, breaks easily, expensive to replace
Coffee tastes great. Carafe too thin, breaks too easily, and the cost of a replacement is almost as much as buying a whole new coffee maker. Skip this coffee maker for one that lasts longer!
Pros: Coffee tasted fine and the machine did shut off at the desired time. Cons: Power outage you can't just restart it will beep and not work.
I have used Krups coffeemakers for over 25 years and only wish my aroma plus didn't die. I bought this one anticipating it too would be great, however, this is a piece of junk. If the power goes off the machine will not just let you turn it back on - if you try it will continually beep and indicate the coffee make is empty!! You have to wait until the machine cools and start all over again (or heat the coffee in a microwave). Also the plunger in the plastic filter holder gets clogged and causes the water to back up into the paper filter creating a nice MESS. This morning after the filter clogged once again I picked up the carafe and the handle fell off! It is only glued on. This lousy product cost me over $50 and lasted 8 months!!!! I bought a Cuisinart coffee maker today and recommend you do the same - no more Krups products for me.
Pros: Keeps coffee hot. Cons: Warmer plate flakes and starts to rust.
I purchased this model (FME4 12 Cup Coffee Maker) a year ago to replace a Braun that I had used for at least 8 years with no problems but I couldn't find a Braun at the retailer. After one month the timer/clock stopped working so I returned it and the store replaced it with the exact same model. After a few months, the warming plate started flaking and now it's developed a rusty coating. I expected more from a quality company like Krups.
This is the worst pot I have ever used by riverbum ,Jan 05 '09
Pros: The box looked nice. Cons: Pot leaks everywhere very hard to program I will never buy a krups product again
stay clear of this pot it leaks everywhere I am tired of having to whip my counters off. And if you want to program it be sure to have the instructions handy you will need them (very difficult) ..Customer serves was a joke called and told the lady my pot leaks when I pour coffee from it. She answered I'm sorry we've had problems with that pot leaking so we discontinued it. I got an idea TEST it before you sell it to people using there hard earned money to buy it
