Highest Rated Consumer Review by the Community

  • Fantastic

    Jul 12, 2009 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Clean clothes.  Extremely Convenient.  110v and Under sink Hookup ability.
Cons: Some fabrics can be a little wrinkled.  Long cycles.

Summary: I live in a condo which "doesn't allow laundry machines in units" - as in, there are no hookups and you can't blast through the concrete to install a dryer vent.Doing laundry in the laundry room just isn't fun, having to run back all the time to ... read more

  • Several years later, mixed results with this machine

    Feb 20, 2011 by
    Not yet rated.
Pros: Ventless; 120V; very efficient; relatively compact; about as reliable as equivalent competing technology
Cons: chronic lint buildup requires partial disassembly every year or so; mixed customer service

Summary: I'm a big fan of the ventless high-efficiency washer-dryer combos, but why I remain hopeful I don't know. I've owned two Equators, the first which had serious lint buildup issues that required taking the machine apart and cleaning the venting ... read more

  • LG WM3677HW Front Load All in one Washer/Dryer

    Jul 21, 2008 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: The only pros to it is that it takes very little space.
Cons: clothes come out linty, long drying time, leaks & service is extremely poor.

Summary: I would not recommend purchasing the LG all in one Washer/ Dryer combo. Its has lots of flaws in the product. To wash a normal batch of clothes it would take more than 4 hours to wash and dry. Its like the machine is constantly running. Who needs a ... read more

  • Great washer for the tightwads out there

    Jul 6, 2008 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: energy efficient, save money, quiet, space saver, easy to use.
    Cons: Price

Summary: We bought this washer/dryer combo about 6 months ago and we have been surprisingly happy with it's performance. We use less detergent and the biggest surprise was the reduction in our electricity bill. We are saving close to $30.00 per month. So although ... read more

  • Works well for family of 4 in a small house, dry climate

    Apr 26, 2008 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Compact, energy efficient, reliable. Combined wash and dry. 1100 RPM spin. No vent required.
Cons: Slower than conventional dryer. Change in washing habits. No shoe-drying rack.

Summary: We bought this washer two years ago and it has performed flawlessly under constant use. It gets our clothes much cleaner than our old top-loader, as has helped somewhat to reduce the electric bill. The sanitary cycle works really well for the cloth ... read more

  • Recommended -- if you can live with the drawbacks

    Jan 13, 2008 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Water/energy efficient, no pills, no lint, full size loads, space saving, built in timer.
Cons: Slow drying, some materials come out wrinkly, vibrates and shakes on spin cycle

Summary: I've had this unit for almost a year now and, for the most part, I am very pleased. If you live in an apartment or are short on space this machine is a dream come true, though there are a few drawbacks you'll need to decide if you're okay with before you ... read more

  • Absolutely love it!!!

    Nov 19, 2007 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: easy to use, convenient, energy and water efficient
    Cons: None

Summary: I love this washer/dryer machine. All I have to do is throw clothes in and forget about it. The delay option is great. I always use it. By the time I come home after work the laundry is done. All I have to do is to fold it. I did lots of research before ... read more

  • Who would have thunk it!

    Nov 10, 2007 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: Less jostling of clothes. I don't worry about leaving wet clothes in the washer.
Cons: Long drying cycle, this is expected, with 110 power. Still better than laundromat.

Summary: I saw this model while searching the web. I was saving the cash to buy one, and suddenly got a bonus. The biggest bonus was living in an apartment with limited space, no 220 volt outlet, no washer hook up or drain, and no place to vent a dryer, but ... read more

  • Laundry in 4 Minutes: 2 to Put it in and 2 to Take it Out.

    Sep 10, 2007 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Convenience, Features, Price, Appearance, Ease of Use, Mobility (120V Plug), Installation
    Cons: Drying Times, Lint Cleaning

Summary: Some Day We’ll Be Together At Last I’ve dreamed of a washer and dryer being as one for as long as I can remember. I often wondered why this wasn’t possible, and if it was why it hadn’t been done already. We sent man to the ... read more

  • Perfect for singles/couples in apartments and condos

    Sep 8, 2007 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: 120-volt outlet, no dryer vent needed, all-in-one machine, little electricity/water use.
Cons: Dry setting not enabled by default, clothes are steamy using automatic setting.

Summary: This machine is probably the best major appliance I own. I purchased my fourth-floor apartment about a year ago, which came with no washer supply connection, no washer drain, no 240-volt electric outlet, and no dryer ventilation. After spending about ... read more

Pros: Excellent cleaning. Versatility (even washes wool well)
    Cons: Cleaning....cleaning.....cleaning Lint....lint.....lint

Summary: I've had the washer for another few months. It still cleans and dries great....but some issues have surfaced. I'm a gadget guy.....so I enjoy looking over things and making sure everything works well. In the case of the wm3677hw, cleaning is the big ... read more

  • LG WM3677HW Washer/Dryer Destroyed My Condo

    Aug 30, 2007 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: better for environment, no need to move laundry--IF it works (good luck with that!)
Cons: expensive, non-functional, strange (difficult-to-decipher) errors, impossible to get parts

Summary: Why did I choose an LG WM3677HW Washer-dryer Combo? I like to fancy myself somewhat of an environmentalist. I recycle everything I can. I used to contribute regularly to my relatives' compost piles. I try to use mass transit if possible. The ... read more

  • Not bad but could be better

    Jun 4, 2007 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Various wash/dry options, space & energy efficient, quiet operation, large load size, delay function
Cons: Lint, lint and more lint; learning the machine to best optimize settings

Summary: I bought the LG WM3677HW combo 2 years ago and chose this model because of space limitations. It takes a while to figure out the correct settings for your clothes, especially the dryer settings. I no longer use the default Automatic Dry Cycle as the ... read more

  • Great while it lasted

    May 18, 2007 by

    Pros: Convenient
Cons: Poor customer service, long wash/dry cycle, heavier materials usually comes out still damp

Summary: I purchased this machine 6 months ago. I was pretty happy with it even though it would take about 4 hours to complete an entire wash/dry cycle. I like the convenience of just starting the machine and not having to be around to move the clothes from ... read more

  • Makes me glad my Equator's motor burned up

    Mar 13, 2007 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Capable, quiet, no vent required, high quality, technically advanced
Cons: Clothes come out steamy or slightly damp, default setting is no dry cycle

Summary: This item has been reviewed by others and they have gone through its many technical details, so I'm just going to hit a couple of high and low points and reinforce or debunk some others' impressions. In January '07, my 2 1/2 year experiment with ... read more

  • Big, and most convenient (except that filter!)

    Feb 15, 2007 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Washes/Dries in one cycle, simple connection. Does a good job with mastadons.
Cons: Lint filter clogs and halts cycle. Jean legs twist.

Summary: I really like this machine. I won't say I love it, and if I had more space and the proper hook-ups, I would probably want this machine AND a proper dryer. But as I do laundry in my kitchen, this was the answer. The best thing about the machine is its ... read more

  • OK, better than laundromat

    Jan 10, 2007 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: Convenient, wash delay
    Cons: Noise, occasionally poorly cleans

Summary: Overall, it's OK. Get a separate, stackable washer and electric dryer if you can. THE LG IS NOT QUIET!!! IT'S LOUD DURING SPIN CYCLE CAUSE IT'S REMOVING WATER. IT'S SOMETIMES LOUD WHEN SPINNING AND IT CANNOT EVEN OUT THE LOAD - A HORRIBLE SQUEAK ... read more

  • Not recommended!

    Dec 20, 2006 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: Not having to remove clothes from washer to put in dryer.
Cons: draining filter, the incredible amount of wrinkles left on jeans, fuzz balls left on sweaters

Summary: I had the displeasure of purchasing this machine several years ago. I admit that I was very excited about the fact that I would be able to put the clothes in the washer and come back several hours later to find them washed and dried! It didn't take ... read more

  • It's about time . . .

    Nov 21, 2006 by
    Not yet rated.
Pros: No transfer of wash, can set timer and clothes are done when I get home.
Cons: Water condenses in detergent drawer and dribbles down side when opened.

Summary: It's about time someone came up with a machine that washes and drys all in one. I live in a 150 year old historical house and the thought of putting a hole in 14 inches of brick to vent a dryer up in my bathroom didn't make sense. The convenience of ... read more

  • A different philosophy in laundry…that works

    Nov 19, 2006 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Convenience of one machine, Cleans clothes better and is more gentle, Great LG Customer Service
    Cons: None at this point

Summary: We did a TON of research before purchasing this product, both online and in the stores. However, once we ordered it from Home Depot (I say ordered because they don’t stock these units), we thought we might be making a huge mistake. I couldn’t have been ... read more
