Dell's new Latitude has no attitude

by ozgamer , May 27 '01
Pros: Sufficient for office applications and DVD movies
Cons: Poor fan design and location; 24X-speed CD-ROM
The demands of e-commerce today require corporate fleet notebooks to offer more than just budget-priced computing for the corporate employee. Dell's new Latitude C600 combines the features required in a corporate notebook at a price that should make it...

Light Weight Champion

by stse , Nov 09 '01
Pros: Light weight, fast, quiet, detachable devices...
Cons: Easy to get hot, and expensive
When it comes to notebook or laptop, I automatically think of Dell Systems. Dell Latitude gives a new look of what real notebook should be.

Light Weight

That’s the first thing that comes to mind that notebook computer...

Much like Oprah, it's not as light as it claims

by secondmidnite , Jun 21 '01
Pros: Lots of RAM, lots of hard drive space, nice display. DVD.
Cons: A little heavy, not as sleek as other notebooks
The Dell Latitude C600 is an excellent computer. My job just upgraded us to the LatC600s from our Compaq Armada m700. It's configured with 128MB RAM, 20 GB Harddrive, DVD, 14" display, and running Windows 2000.

DVDs!
I just got...

Cons: I wish I got it earlier...
The Dell Latitude C600 really is a mobile solution for those who need computing power on the road. Like myself, since I am a salesman. This is the third Dell notebook my company has provided for me in the 4 years I have been working for them, and to...

Dell Still passes the coffee cup test

by tarthurs , May 26 '01
Pros: Very rugged, medium weight, nice size/weight compromise
Cons: Mouse Pad is Weak. Power cord connector is bad.
If you want a good, rugged and reliable laptop, don't care much for looks and you work in a "hazardous" (to computers) environment, you can't go wrong with Dell.

The last time I checked, the Dell laptops are still the only computers to pass...

I'd choose a Vaio over a Dell!

by chenmyu , Feb 25 '01
Pros: Sturdy construction--takes a hit and keeps on ticking
Cons: heavy for travelers
Choosing a laptop depends on how you expect to use it. I think the Dell is great for business people who aren't using this computer for home use. Here's a quick summary of who should/should not buy a Latitude:

A Latititude is NOT for you...

Excellent Battery Life and More!!!

by artiste , Nov 12 '01
Pros: battery life, touch pad and pointing stick
Cons: low speaker volume
The Dell Latitude C600 has some excellent features. I especially like the battery life, easy hot swappable modules, etc.

This model has both a pointing stick and a touch pad. Users can switch back and forth. Both can be used at the same...

Latitude C600 a great balance

by Cerretani , Feb 11 '01
Pros: Lightweight. Excellent graphics for business. Highly integrated.
Cons: Sound is weak. Waking up from sleep is not clean.
I'm partial to Dell because of their excellent service and support. As a system administrator I love companies that stand behind their products and actually show up the next day to fix problems.

On to the Latitude C600. This not the...

Top notch laptop!

by qarana , Mar 08 '01
Pros: Fantastic performance and very mobile.
Cons: None so far!
I’ve been using the C600 for 3 months now and still marvel at its performance, ease of use, and mobility.

When it came time to buy a laptop, I already was familiar with the Dell Latitude’s reputation and performance, having tried out my boss’s...

Good like that last piece of cake

by d-rock , Dec 07 '01
Pros: Great performance, keyboard, screen. Quiet. Great service and support.
Cons: Expensive. Lack of ports.
I consider myself somewhat of a nerd. So when my beloved computer was stolen in September, I had to find its perfect replacement. (note: that computer was also a Dell, so my search was somewhat biased.)

Here's what I was looking for, and you...

It's Fast, Really Fast

by wl125 , Oct 19 '00
Pros: light, portable, solid performance
Cons: floppy drive, hard drive and graphic card don't meet the standard
This fast baby packed with latest Intel Mobil Chip with Speed Step technology. Piii-850/700. It's at 850 Mhz when it's plug and it's 700 Mhz when on the road. Of course you can disable that battery saving feature, and keep it at blazing 850 Mhz all the...

Don't buy it without a warranty

by virag , Feb 13 '02
Pros: Gets by
Cons: Everything else
I have had a Dell laptop for a year now. My wife also has one. We ended up having it as our company provides it as a desktop replacement and we take it home almost every night. At work, we have a docking station.
Now to start with the review, my...

Safe choice, one disappointment

by ze_shark , Jul 14 '01
Pros: Rugged design, good price performance ratio and attractive feature set
Cons: only 1 USB port dual screen mode does NOT work
This machine seems and feels more rugged and robust than its predecessors of the same line which displayed an amazing consistency in their weak points.
The absence of a 2nd USB port is about the only flaw in an otherwise very attractive feature set....

One of the best Dell Laptops so far

by slyfur , Feb 05 '01
Pros: Very light, fast, good price and quality components
Cons: Few if any (some minor complaints - see below)
This is a nice laptop. I have very little to complain about. We just moved 130+ systems from the CPts series to these system and they are so much nicer. The plastics are so much better than the Dell Latitude CP series systems (also known as the Inspiron...
