Pros: Fast, versatile, has it all in one package Cons: A bit heavy.

The HP ze5170 is a great canoe anchor and a lously computer.

Pros: Clear optics, attractive "heavy metal" appearance. Cons: Far too many to enumerate in 15 words.
I have owned my ze5170 for 2 years. It has crashed consistently each and every day I have used it and will rarely complete a DVD movie or a virus scan without a classic blue screen crash. I'm a programmer and tried to install Microsoft Visual Studio.Net on this notebook several times and gave up trying after several crashes during the installation process. It keeps deleting its audio drivers for no apparent reason. The optical drive had to be replaced soon after purchase. I owned IBM, Toshiba, Micron notebook computers during the same time period and have never had any problems with them. Don't purchase this computer new or used.....it's a real loser!! I'll never buy another HP computer again.

WOuld like to see more ram amnd more for video. Speed good and battery should be able to last longer. I think using the notebook chip instead of PC chip helps with battery life. My friend uses his at Starbucks, at Univ and on the plane cross country and overseas.
