IBM's ThinkPad T23 - Think it's an ordinary laptop? Think Again...

by jag2112 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, May 20 '02
Pros: Desktop quality processor and hard drive. Nice screen. Loaded with ports. Affordable.
Cons: Soft keyboard. Limited mouse options.
Recently, my company decided to go through a complete overhaul of everyone's PCs - doing away with the thousands of different (and unsupported models/platforms) and unifying the organization under one happy IT umbrella. The pc and platform of choice was...

Think Again

by syc , Nov 06 '01
Pros: Awesome screen, desktop power, better construction than older T2x
Cons: Expensive
I give a lot of credit to IBM. I've been a faithful Thinkpad user for many a models now dating back to the Thinkpad 750C (although I have strayed from the path on occasion...never by my own will) and am surprised by IBM's ability to surprise me with...

A pro's pro laptop

by matthoron , Nov 21 '07
Pros: Fast 1.13 GHZ Processor Build Quality Up to 1GB RAM Touch Stick
Cons: Shows age in video processing Limited battery life USB 1.1 ports No built in Wifi
This is a computer for people who like computers. It's now over 5 years old. It can't run Vista, it can't display HD video -- but what it does do it does damn well. I'm in the laptop repair industry and have sold and serviced dozens of different ...

upgrade from IBM 600e

by mfunke2 , May 08 '02
Pros: Good size, good weight, just the right ergonomic fit
Cons: unknown at this time
The consulting company I work for had been leasing their laptops. My lease ran out two months ago, and I was given the option of a Toshiba or the IBM T23. I chose the IBM.

I had been using an IBM 600e, which I loved. The ergonomics of the...

My kinda notebook

by snkee , Oct 08 '01
Pros: Speed, memory capacity size, portability
Cons: Cost of RAM upgrades
I had one of these in mind for ages - a notebook PC that could present the software I wanted to show with minimal fuss and bother. I needed at least 1GB of RAM and a fairly chunky hard disk. Oh, and a nice display was important too, as I tend to burn the...

Powerful and Portable!!

by artiste , Nov 04 '01
Pros: lightweight, and powerful
Cons: battery life
The IBM Thinkpad 23 compares very well with the Dell Inspiron 8100. Both are very powerful and portable machines. I think IBM is a lighter machine than Dell and it is just as powerful. It has a good screen size, good keyboard and allot of other...

Flawed but still the best

by t23user , Mar 02 '02
Pros: Excellent integration, size and durability.
Cons: Buggy and weak graphics. Poor quality control by IBM.
Model reviewed:

IBM T23 Model 2647-9LU

Strengths:

This line of laptops well-known for being slim in size and weight, but heavy in functionality. The expandability allows 1GB of RAM and it has a 1400x1050 resolution 14.1"...

T23 is awesome!

by philbernie , Dec 17 '04
Pros: Bright screen and firefox view can be enlarged using scroll with wireless mouse.
Cons: battery life.
I absolutely enjoy this laptop. I use it more than my desktop. My T23 has 30G HD, Windows XP, PCMCIA wireless network, wireless keyboard and mouse. It connects to the internet @ 3 mbps. I'm very happy. I work with computers, network and laptops; and ...
