I've always had SONY electronics, but their laptop is no good. I cracked the lcd bezel around the screen when my sleeve got caught on it. Cheap components - the paint job is awful. It scratches extremely easily, and my watch band has taken the paint ...
Pros: Used to be a Good machine with every thing you'd want in a laptop. Cons: The overheating problem seems to be a general phenomena,
After having it for 2 years it started shutting down suddenly causing loss of my work, to find out later that dust keeps building behined the fan to form an insolating material causing overheat of the machine.
This must have caused perminant damage to the motherboard, on day it decided to stop working, it will not turn on, so i ended up with a dead laptop.

Pros: When I first got it, it processed very, very quickly Cons: Fan stopped running properly and unit overheats quickly and frequently. CDRW quit working within months
The fan doesn't work properly, and the unit overheats easily, causing the computer to process slowly and eventually, it will completely shut down. No amount of cooling apparatus purchased has helped the situation. Even paid to have the fan cleaned as per the Sony support site. Nothing has worked to fix the problem.
The CD-RW drive also quit working entirely. Had that fixed and now it reads Cd's on occasion, and will NOT write to one.
