Pros: Great sound system, great keyboard layout; fast Cons: extremely fuzzy screen at low res; lack of traditional ports
This is 1 of the 3 laptops I've purchased recently. Bottom line for this laptop, it is fast. I've bought a Fuji E series (1.6Ghz); while at work I used HP pavilion (1.4Ghz) and Dell 8200 (1.6Ghz) recently. Hands down, this laptop is the fastest....

Pros: Nothing - hate the machine Cons: Hard drive crashed 3 times in 3 years. Would never recommend a Toshiba to anyone.
Purchased a Toshiba 5105-S501 for my daughter in September 2002 to take to college. In December 2002 the hard drive crashed. We sent it back to Toshiba under its original warranty and it took 3 weeks to get back - they had to wait for a new hard drive. January 2004 once again the same problem hard drive crashed took 3 weeks to get laptop back -Toshiba was out of hard drives. January 2005 for the 3rd time hard drive crashed. This time it took 4 weeks to get the laptop back. I begged and pleaded with them to just not replace the hard drive. There is something more going on that is making the hard drive crash. Their customer service department is insane - you speak with people in Istanbul and you can never speak with a customer service person who can help. It is the same run around. Whenever I get the chance I tell people NOT TO WASTE THEIR MONEY ON A TOSHIBA. Our extended 3 year warranty - which we paid over $150 is expiring. So when the hard drive breaks again - it is a DELL for us.
