mm.. chrome..
by kgcorndog ,Oct 17 '04
Pros: cheap, strong, dependible, and looks sweet. Cons: yellow heatsink.. hm.. i guess its okey :P
I've got this connected to a MTX RT 12" sub. Its a little bass project i call 'budget bump'.
I was able to get this sucker for 50 bucks on ebay with the optional fan. Even at retail price, wouldn't be disappointed. i have the gain all the way up and as well as the 12db juice boost (which rocks!) and don't hear distortion! My components distort way before this does.
and if u know about audio, its not the speaker that distorts, its the amp that makes it distort. Its never overheated. Even on warm days, it doesn't feel hot. the optional fan (think its like 15-20 bucks) is a nice security, but i don't think its necessary.
If u bother to look into it, you'll find out that rockford builds this amp, so its no wonder which its good stuff.
But keep in mind this is a budget amp that goes up to 250watts, so don't expect like a 1000.
Now the look, damn.. looks sweeeeeeet. I dont like yellow much, but this looks nice. Really good chrome finish with a slight ridge, cast iron look. The glowing lighting logo is a nice little feature too :P
