This review covers the LiteOn LDW-411S DVD burner, by now superseeded by the LiteON LDW-811S DVD burner. (There are some programs out there to upgrade 411 to 811.. Use at your own risk) Shouldn't I buy the 811 then? As of June 2004 there is still no ...

I bought my Lite-On LDW-411S at Circuit City's after thanksgiving sale. It came out to $89.99 after the rebates. I have owned other Lite-On products and have been happy with those items so I decided on this model as opposed to some of the no-name or ...
The LDW-411S by LiteOn is a good choice. by peterskm ,Apr 18 '04
Pros: Reliable company, good drive. I have experienced no problems with cheap media. Cons: LiteOn 8x DVD drive is already cheaper.
I bought this drive after Thanksgiving '03. I bought LiteOn because I've had nothing but good experiences with my past LiteOn drive purchases . In fact, that is all I buy nowadays. Anyway, I have burnt several DVDs with no problems yet. I've used cheap media and more expensive media and they all worked fine. They play in the new and old DVD players I have with no problems. I've been hearing about the firmware upgrade to 8x which I am somewhat tempted to try, but it really doesn't take that long to burn a DVD anyway. Not much else to say but this drive seems to be another quality offering by LiteOn.
