Pros: Maximum functionality for minimal layout Cons: Tricky to hang off a flat screen, awkward MSN interface
I obtained a webcam primarily to permit me to communicate with friends from Europe. Actually the person with whom I planned to use it the most frequently lives in England, and we used the web to choose a cam together, intending thus to find hardware and ...
Pros: Inexpensive, easy to use, cool, very good picture and sound Cons: Nothing that jumps out at me
Well, I gave in to my wife and got her what she had been wishing for. She is very close to her family and moving to Atlanta has not always been easy on her. I told her a year ago that I would get her a webcam so she could chat and, every bit as ...
Pros: Resolution
Price
Ease-of-use Cons: Base May Break over Time
Having a decent web camera is one of the more important aspects of chatting online. If your camera is of too poor quality, you won’t be able to be seen by the person you’re speaking to. At the same point in time, more expensive cameras come at a high ...
Pros: sound and video quality, small size, mounts on flat screen monitor Cons: possible driver contention, poor customer service
I've found the video and audio quality produced from this camera to be excellent. It seems a bit finicky about lighting -- that is to say it wants a lot of light to produce images that are not to dark or in shadow, but the software includes a low light ...
Pros: Cheap, reasonable quality (still better than most Labtec entry level junk) Cons: Bad Drivers
Mediocre road optics
This camera is of reasonable quality given the price range (around 30 bucks). There is an STX version, I don't know what the difference is, that goes for more and apparently is better quality. The optics are 'fuzzy' meaning that if I compare it to my ...
Pros: Low light filter, works with every IM service, Logitech VideoCall Cons: No face tracking technology for 40 bucks and the Logitech Video service isn't freeware.
Before purchasing the Logitech I used an Ezonics EZcam for my desktop. The Ezonics EZcam was ok if you had plenty of light, but it doesn't hold a candle to the Logitech STX. After being hassled with having to turn on all the lights for ...
Pros: Sound and picture quality are excellent. Cons: Some more detailed description of the set up options would have been helpful.
I admit I was a little skeptical when my Dad said he wanted me to have a web cam so he could talk to my kids online. However, this little camera changed my mind. In a matter of minutes after taking it out of the box, I was up and running with a clear ...
I should have replaced my old webcam long ago by beemer412 ,Jan 12 '07
Pros: Easy install, excellent picture even in low light, great sound quality from built in microphone. Cons: Had an audio issue at first but it was my settings
The Logitech quickcam STX communicate is an excellent webcam. The microphone will pick up my voice even farther than the three feet range suggested. I love that I can move around and still be heard. Also the webcam stays focused on my face when I move. My old cam couldn't do this. The camera works well even in low light. It adjusts to changing light conditions. My old webcam needed all the light I could find to get a good picture. The built in camera shade is perfect for muting the video. The logitech quickcam STX is the answer to my webcam needs. I wish I had bought it a long time ago. I am definitely impressed with this camera.
Pros: Big picture capability Cons: Frame speed slower than older cameras
Purchased this camera new, and the image capture is slower than my old beat-up Veo. Tried a new Logitek QuickCam, and it worked far better. I do like the built-in mic, and the 640x480 capability, but overall, it is twice the price of the QuickCam, and performs less.
Mine did not last a year. I disconnected it (with the PC off) and when I reconnected it, it failed. Never worked again. Pierce of junk. My wife has a $5 one that works just as well and has lasted longer than my Logitech wonder of technology
MY EXPERIENCE WITH LOGITECH QUICKCAM by marvbrogin ,Sep 09 '06
Pros: excellent software. excellent pricing Cons: sorry. but there are NO cons!
I have now used this webcam with my Gateway 3yr old pc with Windows xp.
I have found it excellent..the software allows any and all kinds of pics and all operate trouble-free totally.
I cannot more highly recommend this webcam and for the price, in my opinion, is unbeatable. I am on cable with Time Warner's ROAD RUNNER. I use the webcam mostly for Skype but quick-pix as well.
Nice full featured webcam by shumway2004 ,Dec 29 '04
Pros: Decent image as well as decent microphone. Cons: Wish it had a lens cover like my old Intel webcam
This replaces my outdated Intel 430 webcam.
So far after a day of use it serves it's purpose well. The picture quality it a bit above average and the microphone seems to work fina according to family members who web doing a webchat with me.
Installation was quick and simple.
The price is a bit steep in my opinion, but I bought it with a Xmas gift card so it didn't hurt my wallet. :o)
Satisfied user of Pro 5000 by jr23190725 ,Apr 06 '08
Pros: Easy set up. Excellent results and no problems. Cons: Nothing adverse to report.
Following a friend's recommendation, I have been using a Logitech Pro 5000 for about 8 months and I have been delighted with the results. So much so other members of my family and some of my friends have now acquired the same model. I speak with contacts in New Zealand, Houston and UK without any problems. I have heard nothing but good comments from my contacts.
Horrible color in anything less than perfect lighting by johnllauer ,Aug 03 '05
Pros: Price is reasonable; works fine in daylight Cons: Essentially not usable at night
This cam works fine in daylight or a VERY well-lit room, but if the lighting is anything less than perfect the colors will be horrible. I did all the adjusting I could manage and my red shirt still looked blue!
I suspect that this is a problem common to all CMOS sensor cams, but am not sure. I'm returning mine and getting a CCD sensor cam - they cost a little more, but it will be worth it.
Works perfectly with my Pentium 4 desktop. The built-in microphone with RightSound technology worked as advertised. Works fine with XP. Tried on my laptop running Vista with no problem. You just need to install the software first.
The RightLight technology really gives superior video performance in low light situations which is very important for me because of my eyes.
