As a pipeline patrol pilot...
by satisfied_pilot_dt3000 ,Dec 22 '02
As a pipeline patrol pilot I use my Lowrance 100 six to nine hours daily six days a week.
Forty-five to Sixty degree banked turns all day long and after seven years it's still operating perfectly! Flying pipeline patrol really works any GPS! Other GPS units would get lost in the turns and would take too long to find themselves again. The new price has been reduced 50% since I bought mine and mine is worth twice the price.

This product has great features...

This product has great features and is easy to operate. I especially like the MGRS ability. Unfortunately, Unless you are standing outside and have uninterupted line-of-sight to the satellites, it barely works if at all. I have tons of trouble in my car getting it to receive satellites and even more when flying. The Garmin I tried out worked perfectly, but traded it in because it did not have MGRS(Military Grid Refrence System) I wish someone would make a MGRS GPS and moving maps at less than $300.00. I would not recommend this product because it is higly unreliable.

This unit's strongest feature is its reception. During outings with others, my unit will have reception went the other's won't. Not quite as accurate as some of the other units but always gets me within 15 ft. This unit has more features and customizable screens than any other unit I've seen.
