Pros: Impeccable drivers. Excellent sound quality for the price. Cons: Price. Inability to use multiple Delta 44s at the same time.
I have been trying to make low-end digital audio workstations work for years, and finally found the solution with the Delta series.
I've tried using Creative cards, onboard ESS sound chips, a Steinberg Project card, and an Edirol USB...

Pros: Excellent sound quality, simple, useful software interface. Cons: This unit does not have digital i/o
(see Delta 66).
I have had this unit for several years, and though technology, computers and software have all changed very quickly, this unit still stands up to the competition, and still has everything a home digital producer needs in a sound card. Sound quality is ...

Great for online radio station
by drkioni ,Aug 13 '05
Pros: Excellent sound quality and flexibility Cons: doesn't come ready for rack mount.
I will never go back to a regular OTC sound card for online streaming, nor rely on AGC software. Software processing has limitations and burdens the CPU most of the time; plus extra software can be costly too. So, if you are serious about this business spend a few more dollars for the right equipment. You will notice the difference and so will your
listeners.
The Delta 44 resolved three problems I was pulling my nose hairs out over.
1) Feedback from outboards to mixer (could not run board hot)
2) PCI FM Transmitter sound quality (listener fatigue)
3) Online sound quality
Take a listen for yourself.
Happy Broadcasting!

An excellent card. Rock solid performance.
by agrikk ,Sep 15 '04
Pros: Rock solid performance.
Excellent drivers. Cons: I wish it was cheaper, but it was worth every penny.
I purchased the Delta-44 as a part of my digital audio workstation setup. Installing this card is a simple matter of dropping the PCI card into a slot and installing the drivers (I have a habit of heading to the manufacturer's web site to download the latest drivers, in case there's been an update since the release of the drivers CD).
I've used this card with Cubase VST and Guitar Tracks Pro on a Windows 2000 and Windows XP Pro machine and have never had a problem with it. The M-Audio control panel that is installed with the drivers is simple to use and allows monitoring of signal strength, modifying hardware setting and routing signals between inputs and outputs.
