  • Martin 00-15: An Excellent Choice in a Small Mahogany Guitar

    Jul 10 '05
Pros: really comfortable to hold and play; nice, balanced tone; good quality control
Cons: not particularly loud; not enough bass for bluegrass jams

Summary: The 15-series guitars from Martin are among my favorite cost-effective guitars out there. They are all mahogany (including the top) guitars that can be had for about $700, including case, and while they don't have the volume, bass or liquidity of ...

  • Martin 00-15: Tanned And Ready

    Mar 03 '08
    Pros: Good concert sized guitar
    Cons: Not for ensemble work

Summary: The Martin 00-15 acoustic is actually what I ended up with after an exhausting search. The original intent was to try out the new Gibson DSM model, made in Canada, and in your choice of Mahogany or Rosewood back and sides (spruce on top as usual, 200.00 ...

  • Glad I bought it

    Dec 01 '07
    Pros: tone, size, action
    Cons: cost

Summary: I have 2 degrees in music, and decided to teach myself guitar. I was interested in getting a good guitar, knowing that if I got something cheap and it had an ugly tone, lost its tuning easily or was hard to play, I would eventually just let it live in ...

  • Martin 00-15--Martin Enters The Budget Guitar Fray

    Jan 26 '05
    Pros: Price, playability, Martin name
    Cons: Not very loud

Summary: The Martin Guitar Company has always been regarded as the premier manufacturer of acoustic guitars in the world. When you think of a Martin guitar, you automatically think of an expensive, high end instrument that is built with only the best materials ...

  • I always thought owning a Martin would be like this

    Nov 06 '02
Pros: Incredible sound and versatility, great price, Martin quality
Cons: Might be too small for some applications

Summary: For starters, I am just a guy who like to do some strumming, find some TAB's of my favorite songs and just mess around on a guitar. I wanted a guitar that was versatile: not a booming/overbearing dreadnaught and not a really small guitar made...

  • there is no real choice here, this is it!

    Jan 27 '02
Pros: outstanding bass and midrange. very full, a great sounding guitar for finger style playing.
Cons: none as far as i'm concerned. very sparse looking though.

Summary: Let me start by saying that I shopped around for a long time before purchasing the 00-15. No guitar I played during my shopping quest could even touch this martin as far as sound, playability, and solid construction. And for this price!! I will say that...

  • Absolut Mahogany

    Aug 11 '00
    Pros: Mahogany, tone, finish
    Cons: not a performance piece

Summary: The Martin D-15 six string accoustic guitar is the cream of the crop for musicians on a budget. The all mahogany finish not only looks nice but is very light and durable. Martin has tha name to go with the guitar. Warm tones and nice action coupled...

  • Is TONE important to you?

    Dec 18 '04
Pros: Tone, tone, tone! Leave out all the fancy decarations..get this!
Cons: Absolutely none. Not for this price!!!

Summary: I have played many, many guitars. Most costing twice or three times the price of the 00-15. Get it now. You would have to spend a minimum of twice the price to even come close to this in a 00 model
