  • Nice theory but it doesn't work

Pros: Great appearance; large capacity; a great many choices of cycle settings; second rinse; pre-wash.
Cons: Doesn't get clothes clean or remove smells. Detergent still on clothes after 86 minute cycle.

Summary: This is a really impressive looking washer, with a very large capacity, but that is the end of the good news. It uses minimal water all right - not even enough to get the smell out of the clothes. The research I did prior to purchase indicated that it ... read more

    Cons: expensive

Summary: I've only had this washing machine for about 2 weeks. So far, it's been excellent. It's quiet, even during spin, and gets the clothes at least as clean as my old agitator-based Maytag. The absence of an agitator makes loading and unloading clothes ... read more

Pros: Uses less water, runs silently.
Cons: Shakes/vibrates vigorously during spin cycle.

Summary: My Maytag Front Load 4000 died and I had to replace it. Went for top load because of bad mildew/mold smell on front front load 4000. So far it is working fine. A number of settings which are not confusing once you watch the video provided with it. For ... read more
