Pros: Sleek, rugged construction; good price/MB of storage. Cons: No secure area; not as thin or fast as others.
I have previously reviewed my trusty Lexar 64MB jumpdrive h
ere.
I was happy with this drive for quite a long time, but it finally became too small. I had started using this mainly for storing the most recent versions ...

Pros: Fast, small, portable, rugged, reliable data carrying device Cons: A bit expensive, but still a good value
The Memorex ThumbDRIVE 512 MB (aka Travel Drive) is a really useful and handy "plug & play" device for carrying around lots of data. I use it to transfer big files and folders between my desktop PC and my Mac laptop, and create quick backups. When ...

Memorex Travel Memory Stick 512MB
by nbauman ,Sep 11 '05
Pros: It worked. Cons: Power requirement makes it very inconvenient.
Just got one today.
Plugged it in to the USB port on the keyboard attached to my Mac G4 and got an immediate "insufficient power" message, suggesting that I plug it into the USB on a powered device. Did so, using the only one available, a port behind the computer, and it worked.
BUT - having to crawl under the desk every time I want to use it is MOST inconvenient, and the packaging material (plastic wrap) did not suggest that this might be a problem.
Will using a cable to connect solve this? Doubt it, as the keyboard is connected by just such a cable.

There are better

Pros: Data and music were reliably transferred Cons: quality, slow, some recognition problems
My wife bought this for me over the summer. I was shocked at the price (over $60), and the first one was DOA. I returned it, and the 2nd one died after 5 months. I mainly used it to transfer music (both downloaded and from CDs, all bought and paid for...) between my home and work computer. The Memorex Thumb Drive just seemed slow, and Windows Media Player would occasionally not recognize it. I've never had difficulty with another brand being recognized off of the USB port. The data and sound quality seemed fine once recognized, though. I probably would be tolerant of these problems if the price my wife paid didn't seem so high.
