A well thought out product

by philadams , Jun 03 '06
Pros: Lots of keys, great layout, pre-programmable with great software, was immediately detected, plug & play
Cons: Nothing really, hope it lasts.
This is my third keyboard on this machine. The original keyboard was pretty basic. Until I replaced it I didn’t know what I was missing. My second was a wireless keyboard that was a Christmas gift. It was great, but it spoiled me with extras I didn’t ...

The "Key" To Great Typing

by newtownbeans Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Aug 17 '08
Pros: Comfortable, quiet soft touch; lots of features; easy to program; good value for the money.
Cons: Zoom slider doesn't always work & not too well when it does.
The Microsoft Digital Media Pro Keyboard was purchased to replace a Logitech keyboard that was used for about 3 years. Comparing the two keyboards, I can honestly state that the Microsoft keyboard far surpasses the Logitech in functionality, ease of use, ...

Good for a Microsoft Keyboard

by Gambit624 , Mar 06 '07
Pros: Gets me to use the top keys more, doesn't use batteries, nice sized keyboard
Cons: Zoom doesn't work with some programs, not keen on plastic wrist support
I had to replace the keyboard that was plugged into my laptop, as my son had beat it to death. I decided to buy a new keyboard for my desktop and move that keyboard over to the laptop. I thought long and hard about getting a new wireless setup, as I have ...

Well-designed keyboard, great layout

by bglassford , Feb 03 '05
Pros: Lots of functions, good layout, good feel
Cons: standard non-ergonometric layout
I ended up purchasing this keyboard by default, I'll admit. I needed a USB keyboard, and wanted the media control keys since I usually have my MP3s playing in the background while I work, and this was the only one I could find that met those two ...

Strangely Buggy Keyboard

by jantin , Jun 26 '06
Pros: Lots of useful dedicated function key, nice looking
Cons: Inconsistent key response, stuck keys, poor key spacing.
I bought this keyboard because it was well reviewed on a number of sites and was the right price. I liked (and continue to like) many of the special function keys, especially volume controls and a dedicated standby button. However, almost from the ...

Problems with my older Dell Dimension

by yankswinagain , Mar 03 '06
Pros: layout, quick launch keys, inexpensive (around $20)
Cons: doesn't work in older PC's, software shipped is older version
I purchased this keyboard to replace the Dell Multimedia Keyboard that came with my PC (a three year old Dimension 8250). I was looking for a multimedia keyboard, didn't want to spend a lot, and didn't need wireless. The keyboard is well designed ...

Gamers be warned!
by ceromus ,Nov 24 '06
Pros: Very quiet typing Soft feel to keys Lots of useful buttons
Cons: Unable to push multiple keys on same row.
You can not hit multiple keys on the same row that are near each other. This is a SERIOUS problem if you are trying to play games. For example lets say you got your fingers on the normal WASD section of the keyboard and your turning back and forth with A and D... well with this keyboard you have to let go of A before you click D for it to go through. Lets say Q and E are your strafe keys, you could hold W to move forward and strafe at the same time it wont work. I called microsoft about this issue...spoke to some indians...robotic ones.. and they said thats the way they designed the keyboard.

Good keyboard
by cleverusername ,Oct 08 '06
Pros: Well laid out and designed, easy to reprogram most of the keys.
Cons: The zoom button doesn't zoom much.
I like the keyboard, overall -- once I got rid of the silly little "wristguard" and replaced it with a real one. Keys are easy to re-program (most of them), it's really a good design. My only gripe is the zoom button. It only does two things -- in a web browser, it changes the font size (if the page allows you to); and it does zoom in or out when you're viewing a single picture. But that's all, and that's not enough. I chose this keyboard over than the others because of the zoom feature, and it's rather disappointing. But, fine keyboard otherwise, so it gets four stars.

Great keyboard
by hbj200 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000,Dec 05 '06
Pros: Comfortable, well-spaced, high-quality, affordable
Cons: Takes a lot of desktop space
I really love this keyboard. Not only is it very comfortable for a touch-typist, but, unlike most other Microsoft keyboards, it puts where the keys belong. For example, the Insert/Delete/Home/End/PageUp/PageDown are exactly where they should be and where you expect them to be, unlike with many recent Microsoft and Logitech keyboards. The backspace key is large - in fact that's why I chose this keyboard over many other potential choices. You can also use this keyboard with a USB port or the good old PS/2 port, so it's flexible. The build quality is good, too. You don't need to install any driver to use this keyboard, but if you do you get additional functionalities with tose extra "multimedia" keys at the top (which I don't care for).
