Still GREAT Software in 2006 by azwolver ,Mar 19 '06
Pros: Easy to use. Lots of extras. Cons: None
I received 9.0 a couple of years ago as a gift from my father who'd been using it to sort photos, create albums and make family gifts. The software is incredibly easy to use and contains a variety of photo projects. I've used this software to relandscape my backyard by using the paint and editing tools to place new colors and material in old backyard photos, produced a Christmas photo of my youngest son that beats all previous attempts with other software, and recently printed incredibly cool party invitations for my oldest son that were personalized with his photo. They were a hit with friends and took me all of five minutes. If you're looking for this type of photo software but don't want to spend a lot of money, the price on this version is very reasonable.
At Last, One Product Does It All! by dillyjmc ,Aug 26 '04
Pros: Easy to use; great multipurpose product Cons: None noted to date
After using all different software packages to scan and organize my photos, I finally found one product that does it all. Within minutes of loading the software, I was accomplishing tasks - creating my photo library, applying key words, sorting, etc. I have used the software for editing and it works the same way that other Microsoft products work, thereby lessening the learning curve for me. I have already loaded 1200 photos into my library from various cd's, scans, and digital camera files. Now, all my photos are archived on one back up CD that was created in seconds. A nice feature of the software is that you can do an archive update, meaning your last back up is updated to include only the new photos.
I have been using the software for a few weeks for organizing genealogy photos as well as our children's photos and I am very pleased with the products capabilities.
First the album part, better and easier to use than others and ALL the functions really work including back up to cd. The editing section is almost up with the so called best for most users and for the old and forgetful it guides you at every step without filling the work area and is quick, a problem if you do not use some of the other programs for a week. If it is not for professionals then I think it has all you ever need. Why spend seven months getting to grips with the basics of Adobe when with this product you will be up and running within days. Since this company makes the operating system then it stands to reason they should be able to supply the attachments. A first class product that really works 100 % for a pleasant change.
