Pros: No cords to tether you, excellent ergonomic feel Cons: A few minor quirky things (see below)
I bought a mouse as a "birthday present" for myself back in early November 2003, and have since resisted all temptation to start calling it "my precious" (my apologies for the Tolkien reference). I have long been a user of Microsoft-made mice and this ...
Pros: No cable, pretty to look at Cons: Poor ergonomic design, poor control and sticky performance
I purchased this mouse to replace a wired optical mouse that had failed after 3 years of use. My only reason to purchase the wireless M.S. mouse was that it was on sale. From it's original list of $80.00 CDN to $20.00 CDN. Worth a try at that price. ...
Pros: Battery life, ergonomix, wheel, plug n play, wireless! Cons: Transmitter a bit bulky, pricey
I really didn't mean to spend all this money on a mouse. I really didn't. I was just playing a lot of Hitman 2, and I was really frustrated on one level. I blamed on my cheap Dell mouse. Y'know, the old school ones that have balls in them. So I decided ...
Pros: Reliability, sensitivity, "feel" Cons: Right button click pressure too little. Subject to electronic interference.
Like at least one other reviewer, I got this particular mouse by happenstance. I had just bought a new computer, and wanted to get rid of the "wire tether", which has always been a pain in the a**. I didn't intend to get a MS product because they're ...
Pros: Comfortable, back/forward buttons, works great on a desk top, couch cushion, bed or mouse pad. Cons: When batteries are low performance is erratic at best, slightly clunky receiver.
I have been using the MS IntelliMouse mice since the first one came out in late 99. In fact, I still have that mouse, and am using it on the computer I'm writing this review on. That's right, over 5 years and the mouse still works as though it were ...
Pros: Excellent feel and choice of options.
Tracking not perfect, but acceptable. Cons: Under certain conditions, could cause loss of entered data.
Poor battery life.
I recently acquired the MS Wireless Intellimouse Explorer, Version 2.0 and was extremely satisfied with its operation for the first eight days of it being in service on a Windows machine used between 2-4 hours per day on a daily basis. After a little ...
Pros: It's wireless and it's optical. Might be fine for a desktop computer. Cons: Would not stay installed and working on my Sony Vaio Laptop. Clunky receiver.
The first type of mouse I purchased for my laptop was a "Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse". It was wonderful at first, but the problems began after about a month. There are so many similar names for this type of mouse that it's hard to keep them ...
Wireless, yes, Useless, yes, by cireton ,Jan 14 '05
Pros: Wireless, supposedly very long battery life Cons: Skittish and acts like a mouse with a dirty mouse ball.
I bought the Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer at Costco this afternoon 1/14/05 for $34. I thought that was a great price for a mouse that would remove one cord from my laptop. I thought that there would be a small USB dongle but it comes with a huge USB plastic slab that you have to place near where you use the mouse. I can handle that, but the performance of the mouse is horrible. Even with the plastic slab inches away from the mouse it acts like it has a dirty mouse ball: performance is erratic, it skips and jumps across the screen, and even basic gaming is impossible. Microsoft has always blown it with hardware (remember the Microsoft phone?) except for the mice where they have always excelled. I've always liked their wired and optical mice but this one is a definite miss. Maybe that's why it's only $34 at Costco?
Pros: Good battery life & ergonomics Cons: Too bad these things didn't have more functions.
We've got both the Logitech & this Microsoft mouse. Other reviewers who fault the battery life on this mouse should try the Logitech! In comparison, this one is much better! I recharge the Logitech batteries two times for every one time with the Microsoft. I also like the ergonomics better, though I know others who prefer that of the Logitech. Hey, it's just a mouse! Oh, another point: the Microsoft mouse has software that gives a much better look to the cursor; I like that too.
One of the Best Mice I have Ever Owned by luckyglass ,Sep 21 '03
Pros: Smooth clicking, Cool light too. Cons: None so far, nothing broken after a lot of use.
Literally, one of the best mice I have ever owned. Unlike the old intellimouse explorer, this one actually doesn't break after long periods of use on those hardcore games. The two navigation buttons on the side, which you can program to whatever you please, are a necessity. It's smooth-clicking and enables you to surf even faster on the net. A good deal.
Pros: Nice feel in the palm of your hand. 2 Extra programmable buttons. Cons: Battery life. Just a bit on the small side. Compatibility with the wireless keyboard
Nice feeling mouse with a couple of extra buttons you can program to do things like open an explorer window or act like a "Back" button in Internet explorer. The mouse feels a little small in my hands. The batteries need to be replaced (2 AA's) about every 3 weeks. Even when my computer is off the light comes on when the mouse is moved.
The range is fine for my use (about 2 feet from receiver) and works fine with games too. The only thing I really don't like is the battery life.
I originally bought the MS Wireless Multimedia Keyboard combo with a basic wireless mouse included. These came with their own receiver. I didn't like the basic mouse it came with so I bought this mouse. I figured I could use the basic mouse on my other computer but it doesn't work with the Intellimouse Explorer receiver. And the Intellimouse receiver doesn't support the keyboard, so I have a mouse(the basic one) in the basement with a receiver(the Intellimouse one) that doesn't recognize it.
MS Wireless Optical Mouse by wmartin573 ,Jan 25 '04
Pros: Nice not to have a cord. Looks quite good. Cons: Alas, seems not be reliable.
Bought this with the wireless keyboard which always seemed to work fine.
Loved the idea of not having a mouse cord. For the first six months it seemed great.
Unfortunately, the mouse became unreliable after that. Extended periods of waiting without a response from the mouse. Changing the batteries didn't help. Nor did reconnecting via the ground station button and the connect button. Changing the PC I used it with didn't help. Couldn't find any other advice or tech support, so out it went after nine months.
