Pros: Robust plastic build. Good pictures. Plenty of fun options including movie mode with audio. Cons: No optical viewfinder (no big deal). Came only with 8mb card. Low light images unimpressive.
I am very impressed with this cheerful little camera. Clearly Minolta had put plenty of thought into the design of their 'low end' DiMage X range digicam. Currently at about £100 (UK) and being such a compact device and only 2 megapixels - you could ...
Pros: Value, Small, AA batteries, Fast boot, Excellent macro Cons: Case protrusions, Consistent underxposure, Image softness, Long recycle/focusing, Small CCD
UPDATE (12/18/03): I forgot to mention that Dimage X20 has an abnormally small 1/3.2" CCD. Majority of consumer digicams in this class have at least 1/2.7" CCD. Even much smaller 1.3MP Sony DSC-U10 has a bigger 1/2.7" CCD. In general the smaller ...
Pros: Compact; zoom with no protruding zoom lens; value Cons: Lower quality video
Small, cheap, feature-laden... pick two. Although we all would like to have all three in a digital camera, I prefer to approach my purchases with an eye towards what I plan to use the camera for. In that respect, the Dimage X20 is perfect for me. I ...
Pros: tiny tiny tiny
fast startup
excellent price
good image quality
Cons: only one con-->image quality a bit soft
I did so much research on digital cameras before deciding on this one and I am glad I did. I had a couple of criteria to make the cut: - had to be extremely small (I've had other digital cameras in the past that I just never used that often because ...
Pros: Its stylish layout, ease of use, many features, box contents and usefulness of AA batteries!!!! Cons: instructions do not answer everything and a case is not included in the box.
* Included in the box is the Minolta DiMAGE X20 camera, 8MB memory card, 2 AA batteries, a wrist and neck strap, cables for televisions and computers, two discs and instructions. Although this will depend on the place of purchase and deals. * The ...
Pros: Affordable, Compact, Good Battery Life. Cons: No fine tuning of settings, no upgrade of lenses or filters.
As of late to get of my gadget/computer kick, the great outdoors has called, I answered. I picked up this camera for a little outdoor photo work to sneak away from the desk and enjoy the outdoors. The camera has worked great with the exception of low ...
Pros: Start up speed. Uses AA batteries. Looks Expensive but isnt. Cons: Small screen size. Auto focus can be a bit slow.
The Minolta Name Brand is synonymous with quality camera optics so I felt pretty safe investing in this camera. If you are looking for the following qualities, this camera is for you: Uses AA batteries instead of proprietary rechargeables. Lithium ...
Pros: Quick
Easy to use
AutoFocus is very good at price range
Size Cons: Battery Life
Easily scratched
When I purchased this camera I was looking for something compact and affordable. I already own a Fuji S5000 (great camera), however the camera is a bit big and heavy to take everywhere. I looked at Cameras by Casio, Pentax, Canon and Fuji. I found ...
Konica Minolta DiMage X20 Digital Camera by pood_mcdood ,Jul 03 '05
Pros: Special Effects, Quality of photos in relation to amount of mega-pixels Cons: CERTAIN pictures in low light, no window viewfinder
This is an amazing camera. The image quality is fabulous, considering the fact that it only has about 2 mega-pixels. One can do many cool things with this camera besides just taking very good pictures. It has an image pasting feature, where you can make fun photos where one person's head is on another person's body, or a a picture of a couple with a heart-shaped frame around them...and more! You can also change the coloring of a photo to make it have a blue, green, or red tint to it. There are also many other digital effects that come with this camera.
The best pictures that it takes are the ones outside, or in brighter rooms. The image quality in darker rooms is pretty good, but could be better. Also, there is no viewfinder (window) on the camera, just a screen. This is usually not a problem, but sometimes causes difficulties.
I do not recommend this product for a professional. However, for a beginners to lower intermediates, this camera is unbelievable.
Pros: Compact, good picture quality, easy to use, standard batteries Cons:
Stopped working after only a year and a half...
Nice point and shoot camera that's easy to carry and use, and it takes decent pictures. Standard batteries are a plus (you can run into any store and get AAs in a pinch). Unfortunately, the camera stopped working before less than 1.5 years after purchase (no picture, the camera menus work fine, though), and one online forum suggests this ia a common problem.
EXCELLENT, without questioning!!! by droopman ,Dec 19 '03
Pros: Slim outfit, easy handling, great pictures!!! Cons: A few restrictions with the 2mp lens and the flash.
Body is a little plastic-lookalike.
After recieving the camera I was almost immediatly hooked on it's slim outfit and it's performance.
You can keep the camera with you all the time (unless you wear a bathing suit) due to it's slim outfit, and it makes almost perfect pictures.
The handling is very simple and direct, and easy to learn without a lot of difficult technics.
Off course there will always be better products, but for what you get with this camera, you have a superb digital camera on your service!!!
Pros: Size- very portable, quality of snapshot- type photos, ease of use Cons: some shutter delay, occasional underexposure
We received this camera as a gift and promptly returned the larger digital camera we had just purchased. This camera goes everywhere with us and has served us well for snapshot use. While it is not the greatest camera for high-quality photos, it is perfect for snapshots and is always available due to its compact size. We take more photos now because of its portability; isn't that half the fun of having a camera?
We have another camera for "real" photos, but this little camera is by far the workhorse with our family. I have to remember to switch cameras when I want more than a 4 x 6 print, which, fortunately, isn't very often. It can underexpose, but when you are out skiing or mountain biking, who really wants to be carrying a heavy camera anyways? I think its well worth the occasional compromise in photo quality to have a camera that you can take along with you in your ski coat pocket and actually use!
Pros: Good Picture Quality, Good Battery Life, Really Small Size, 3X Optical Zoom Cons: Only 8MB memory card Included, Only 2MP
This is a great camera, and a steal for the price, It takes good pictures and is really easy to use, the menus are great and foolproof, though it is a good idea to get a memory card because the 8MB one fills up fast in the higher quality settings, Its really small and everyone i show it to thinks it was like $400, its great to have video w/sound and not limited to 30 secs, and its great hooking it up to the TV w/ the included cable to show pictures, also it only uses 2 AA's and they last quite a bit, almost instant on, shutter lag depends on flash, this camera is just cool.
The only major problem i have is that Sometimes I cover flash with the right hand middle finger and picture is not well taken
An excellent overall compromise by hungt ,Sep 22 '03
Pros: compact, uses AA batteries, stylish, unlimited video with sound (limited by the memory card) Cons: weak flash, slight distortion, soft image, no viewfinder
- Image quality is actually very good. but a bit soft
- 2AA NiMH can last the whole day using in as a tourist
-LCD turns out to be excellent and adequate to be used in outdoor and indoor.
- the slideshow function is nice. You can set the display time and allow animation (LCD and on TV)
- this X20 is made of plastic, not aluminum!
- To delete a frame is very unpractical: you have to push/scroll the navigation button six times until you get to finally delete the frame.
- you have to press the button half way down to focus the camera. The camera does not autofocus in real-time. It takes about from 0.5 to 2 seconds to focus depending on the luminosity of the subject. Therefore, it can take a few seconds between the time you press the shutter button and the time the image is actually taken.
- flash is under power. Do not count on it beyond 6ft. The ironic thing is that it tends to wash out the subject from 0 to 6 ft (flash color too white maybe?).
- video movie is a bit dark
Purchasing this for my "significant other" initial thoughts were "all these features will over complicate things and baffle her" and "with all these features the quality will be poor"
Wrong and Wrong.
Pictures clear crisp usable sizes.
Movie & Sound clear at objects not "zoomed".
LCD screen clear.
Useful user friendly menus.
64mb card needed.
Lots of features and great value for money.
Needless to say both the "other half" and I, were very impressed.
Don't forget to actually turn the Digital zoom on either! It is in a sub menu easily missed if you don't explore the menu's properly!
