Pros: Killer color and B&W images, lightweight, easy to use, inexpensive. Cons: Believe it or not, but I can't think of any!
Summary: I was looking for something a little better than your typical "point and shoot" which doesn't offer many options for better quality or special situations. A 35mm SLR was in order. But my budget did not exceed around $300.00. I didn't want to go ... read more

Pros: Inexpensive, tons of features, small & light. Cons: Flimsy construction, weak auto-focus and metering systems.
Summary: For years I used "point and shoot" cameras for snap shots, family vacations, outings, holidays etc. I have other cameras but they are manual for the most part and just too cumbersome for this purpose. One day I picked up this Minolta at a store and I ... read more

Pros: Great picture quality

Fast and accurate auto focus
Excellent Price Cons: Minolta lens could be better
Summary: I researched several cameras before I decided on this one. I have used a Canon AE-1 and Canon A-1 for years, but I decided to make the jump to auto focus. I narrowed my choices to the Minolta Maxxum 5 QD, and the Canon Rebel Ti QD. I looked at some ... read more

Pros: Auto modes are excellent, shutter speed is good Cons: The camera strap is poorly placed for closing the door.
Summary: I've had a number of SLR cameras, the Maxxum 5 is the best so far. I bought it on Ebay for about $110 treating it as "disposable." Now it's my main camera, and I shoot everything with it. I live in the middle of the Blue Ridge Parkway and spend a lot
